Let's do this!” With a lift of his brow, bright blue eyes looked beyond the horizon toward what would be parents den, undoubtedly filled with the young bodies and minds of his baby siblings. “I mean, it’s right there.” The voice filled the air as the black and white boy continued to stand, staring down the task he had given himself today. “You gotta do it, you made a promise, Archer.” A low mutter to himself as he continued to have an audible conversation to no one. Then there was a pause, nothing with the gentle chirp of a morning bird and the quiet breeze of Gemini tickled at his coat.

There is always tomorrow……” A lazy, nearly defeated look upon his face unfolded before a paw, firm and determined stomped at the ground, then he began shaking his head. “Right? Yeah.” Inhaling deep with a nod, Archer glanced around quickly to see that no one was nearby, as if he were about to do some embarrassing task that could not be seen by anyone. In fact it was quite the opposite.

There was another moment of hesitation before the wind uncharacteristically shifted around and managed to gust from behind, causing Archer to stumble forward nearly ungracefully as he groaned loudly. “FINE, OKAY!” His head raised to the sky as he looked at closely at the sun as he could without blinding himself, giving a scowl before it softened into a modest grin. His legs unplanted from the ground as he continued forward, giving himself a small shake and murmuring under his breath, “I AM going to love them, But kids are probably exhausting….” With a small exhale, "There is probably only like five." Yeah, right? That's a normal number.

Filling his lungs with air, Archer triumphantly strides into the den and bellows to wake any drowsy faces and sleepy heads. “AWWWOOOOOooooooGOOOOD morning!” Standing tall and with a wide grin, Archer looked down at the little bundles of fur that resembled his parents patterns. As his eyes continued to scan across them all he felt an inward panic at just how many he saw. How did mom have THIS MANY AGAIN???? Archer, struggling to maintain his composure, clearing his throat and continued.

I am Archer, your wonderful big brother who is here to…. do what brothers should do!” Smooth. “Which… I will tell you about in a second.” As they all began to stir awake and hopefully look towards him, he continued to feel sweat running down his back. God, it’s like an army.

So… first, tell me your names, ‘cause if you don’t I’m just going to give you one.” Jokes on you kids, he’ll do that anyway.

ooc: finally I DID THE THING. For all the new HATE 3.0 kids, adopted and the like! Come tackle Archer who just wants to love his ginormous family even if he probably won't remember everyone but he's trying his best. Mom & Dad are welcome to come too, since he just like.... busted in. Hope you guys weren't sleeping! If you were, sorry!!!!

I am no Greater then Your Gods, and No Worse Than Your Demons.

Golden eyes would blink softly in annoyance to the wind that dried them. Fur disturbed in its invisible presence as the soft stands of cells whipped around a lithe and athletic canid shape. No matter the distance, it would be blatant that the wolf was female. The thing frame, the distinguished long face. She was staring off into supposed nothingness. Lost in the distant sights. Her pelt illuminated by the glowing tracks and ridges marking her bodice. She yawned, then continued her stare. Sitting atop the highest point of her little hill, a slight overlook across the expanse of land. Her thing ears swiveled back and a small dark nose twitched. Whiskers quivering.

She would glance behind her occasionally in worry, then back to the distance, an incredibly long tail laying limp over the hills. The necklace of bird skulls rattling together in their own sort of music. The holes in the bone creating whistles of all separate pitches. Singing to her. She remained silent, merely a statue against the billowing winds. Relentless in their attempt to send the hellion back to wherever she had come. It could have been hours before she finally rose to her feet, hunger tainting her peace.

"A hunt would seem to be wise. I have not eaten well lately. And I've only been starving my shadows...." She spoke softly. Such a voice wouldn't have been expected from the massive fae. Even as she glanced back to observe the female coyote trailing behind her at a considerable distance. The poor thing burdened under pregnancy. Kindred pushed her ears forward in acknowledgment. The coyote scrambled to hide in fear of the large female catching her. Kindred shook her head and chuckled at the poor thing, smiling. She would never harm the helpless scavenger. Her mate had likely been killed or had left her. She would be burdened with newborns in this disgustingly cruel world. Kindred had slowly been gaining her trust, the coyote would dart behind her if danger rose. And would sometimes come to eat beside her.

With her mind settled on food to supply herself and the soon-to-be mother, she picked up a soft gallop into the timber to find the easiest form of food. She wasn't a scavenger and didn't ever plan on it. Rather the fae closed in on the scents of a small herd of fallow deer. They weren't too far off and as she gained ground to them, she could sense that there were three or four stags within the group. One of which would be the meal she wanted.

Kindred approached in silent anticipation, head low as she slowed and crouched. The Herd stood approximately three or four yards ahead, unaware of the looming threat the crouched within the fauna, choosing her next meal. Golden eyes closed in on a large stag, her ears pressing forward. She slowly advanced, silently gliding across the ground with fluid perfection. Her paw pads tingled in excitement. She was close now. The stag was alert, weary. The feeling of eyes burning into his spotted back causing him to create low sounds of worry. But after near to ten minutes he returned to his grazing. Kindred resuming her advancement on the stag. Despite being canid she moved like a panther or lion. Body held only an inch above the ground, tail hovered over the grass to avoid too much noise, though the attempt was futile as one of the does within The Herd crowed out an alarm and the whole herd jerked into a sprint, the stag she had targetted at the lead.

Kindred cursed and bared her teeth, springing to action as she lunged across the field after the stampede, fainting to the left to leap over logs and rocks, turning again and sprinting to cut them off, running as if she were running from the devil himself. The Herd was close, she could see them approaching, she'd make her move soon.

The second the stag closed distance, she lunged from her place and locked her canines around the crowing prey animal. Snarling at the relentless kicks and strikes it delivered to her side. She shook her head wildly, finally breaking the neck, and cutting off all air access, the stag was dead in seconds.

Kindred drug the body into the covered forests, setting the kill down and looking around for the pregnant coyote. The sight of the small canid slinking into view and towards the carcass made the end of her long tail sway in welcome, before dipping her head and ripping, digging into the kill eagerly, paying no mind to the coyote who closed in to do the same. In a sense, the scavenger had become her close company. Even if they hadn't spoken, she knew the canid's name. Beverly. The Coyote knew her's as well, but she still didn't trust the wolf much. And Kindred didn't blame her. It would be unfair. Wolves often hunted scavengers.

Kindred looked to the coyote as she ate eagerly and hummed continuing in her indulgement and losing her sense of mind to the real world, to pay heed to only the meal and the good deeds she had done for the pregnant coyote she traveled with.

ooc;; @"Riss" s excuse the messy post!! just wanna get something out there

the morning sun broke into the sky in a cotton-candy mixture of pinks and oranges and blues. the night had not been kind to daevi, with horrid nightmares of her family that left her feeling guilty throughout the day, but watching the sunrise so blazingly gave her a sense of renewment, and, despite her weariness, she felt ready to tackle the day. the soft breeze brought with it hints of water and spring blooms and, most importantly, prey. rabbit, really. the longer daevi ate it, the less she thought of it as prey, but it was food all the same. hopefully soon she'd stop missing the taste of elk, but she doubted it.

it took a long time to convince her body to move, to leave the grassy hill with the perfect view of the sunrise, but eventually she was up and walking toward the smell of food. she felt good, today, despite her troubled dreams. strong, and capable. it helped that within only a few moments, two small rabbits went skittering from their cover in opposite directions away from daevi. she took off after one, but it was fast, and she almost lost it went it took a hard turn through a patch of thick underbrush. but daevi wasn't giving it up that easy, and lunged through, bursting through the brush behind the rabbit - and nearly slamming right into another wolf. the girl struck the ground, lost her balance, rolled into the foliage. she was up on all fours again in a moment, panting. "so sorry!" she huffed, shaking the debris from her fur. "you didn't happen to see a rabbit...?" her question trailed as she looked to the other. he was a huge thing, she realized with a start, twice her size, easily. maybe even bigger than the last dire wolf she had met.

she took a few steps back, not out of fear, but to put a comfortable distance between them, and to better regard him. it was his eyes that stuck out to him most, bright blue on a slim, dark face. "are you lost?" she asked, though after she wondered why. nothing about him struck her as lost, except, perhaps, the faraway expression in his eyes. at least, that's what she thought it was.

(Ooc: Sorry if I failed to describe the area. I'm not too familiar with the layout of Tortuga so let me know if I got anything wrong. XD)

Somewhere along the coast near the Golden Pass a lone wolf wandered slowly along the stretch of land that bordered the sea. The gray and white figure kept a close proximity to the calm waves that breached the sandy coastline. The only sounds that polluted the early morning air was the calming song of the waves churning and the muffled sound of the moist sand as the young timbers paws compacted the loose earth underneath him leaving behind a small trail footprints that were destined to be washed away with the next cycle of the waves. Crimson eyes scanned the beach attentively obviously looking for something but there was little to be seen besides the debris of past storms and a few shells that the youngster ignored. Though secretly he wanted to collect them but he was here for a different item. Well material would be the actual term for what the teenage timber was combing the banks for and that material was the last piece to complete his current project. A pouch. Over the past few days Jabir had made a strap of vines. He couldn't recall how many hours it took him to braid the material into the sturdy, but flexible, strap that now laid upon one of the many outcroppings that littered the inside of his den. They were quite handly to lay things when the timber had to adventure out into the forest either to preform duties as a Torch or to seek out more items. Yes Jabir was currently off duty and was indulging in his hobby.

Although the wolf was young Jabir had a talent for crafting, as well as fire, and he found it relaxing to create something from what others viewed as useless trash. It was all just a puzzle to figure out and the young wolf loved to explore the creativity of his mind as he tinkered endlessly with the many trivial things that he came across. Like all the shells that laid half buried on the coast. All beautiful and numerous but currently beyond Jabirs grasp...but not for long. A gust of wind blowing off the sea tousled his bangs which he smoothed out with his gray tipped paws to renew his vision. It was a peaceful dawn that he enjoyed especially with the dense fog that clouded the area. He didn't know why but cool foggy mornings were the most beautiful. The curling white mist writhing along the cool morning air and casting everything into a darker hue of what it actually was. In his eyes it made everything more vibrant than the sun ever could; well at least to him. Indeed Jabir was a very odd teenager but out here alone the boy didn't have to worry about trying to impress anyone.

Jabir was begining to doubt that there would be anything of use to be found. Maybe he could try again after a few days. Turning his gaze from the sand he scanned the area around him; looking for a promising direction to head. It was at this moment when he noticed the dark outline of a creature walking towards him from the opposite direction...or was it walking away? That was the only draw back of fog; it didn't help visiblity. Luckily the bangs framing his sharp features made focusing easier as he squinted and attempted to make out the walk of the shadow. It moved like it walked on all fours but nothing else could be detailed. The young male closed said eyes and took in a deep breath which he then released slowly as he calmed his nerves to do what he was about to do. Crimson orbs stayed locked on the swaying shadow approaching him, "Oi," he called out , "be you friend or foe stranger?"

  Lay Your Bones

Dry leaves cracked and crumbled beneath nimble paws, a trail parting in the wake of the mamal as it moved fluidly through the timber, a long, thick tail trailing behind the tall and thin body. With each step the dire wolf took, the necklace of bones rattled together, though quietly. Cushioned by the thick obsidian pelt cloaking the wolf's body. Bright golden eyes watched the surrounding area in curious amusement. Though it ay have been dark, she was interested in every single detail of the timber she wandered.

Little could disturb her curiosity. Her dark nose pushed through the leaves along the floor, taking in the damp scent, occasionally pawing through the dirt in search of roots or anything interesting, She looled up to blink at the starred sky, tail tip giving a soft wag and sway. She enjoyed being alone. But once a pack wolf, always a pack wolf. She didn't belong in the lone world. Her heart belonged in the pack. In the midst of other souls. She didn't much care about rank, though being an alpha wouldn't be too bad. Her father had been an alpha. She wanted to fulfill his vision of her future, but beggers can't be choosers.

She licked her upper jaw and yawned, shaking out her pelt. She sat down softly to itch behind her ear, closing her eyes. The glowling along her body pulsed a few times before settling to their calm glitter, watching the area around her, nose twitching as she attempted to uncover scents.

This was such a strange place, having come from lands of snow and ice. This land had no snow, not yet at least. She couldn't be sure if it would or wouldn't. Her ears would perk and her eyes would turn to the sounds of the night in curious amusement. A strange, cackle of a noise would emerge from her jaws, and distant calls would reply. Birds of the night. Strange birds that she couldn't see, but knew were watching. Spying on her very existence. She knew of the owls, they kept her company, they would sing with her on nights where the moon would truly listen to her. Her pulsing lines would glimer then burn out, returning at a steady glowing burn. Illuminating her sides and face.

Golden eyes closed as she rose to her feet again, and her long tail swayed, unconciously creating long tracks in her wake as she again started along the path she knew would take her at least somewhere. Head held high, relaxed. She knew if any encounters were to happen, she owuld only show threat in being tense. The fae's relaxed appearance had gotten her more friends than foe. Even with as many fights as some would beg for, she wouldn't be one to start them. Only would she step out of her line into the ways of violence if absolutely nescesary. But violence went against what her father had taught her. Patience was the true ways of the alpha. Kill the enemy with your eyes and kind words. Tooth and claw is too much work. It creates hatred, and fills your soul with bile. She believed that whole heartedly. Even as she wore the tribal symbols around her neck, and the band of feathers round her tail, she wore them in proud show of loyalty to her father to show of her belief against battle and violence, Trekking through this unknown land with the confidence of many.

Since gaining acceptance into the pack, Hickory had found himself finding comfort beside the ocean. It wasn’t exactly swamp land, but it was still wet. There were certainly more noises to entertain him: the water, the birds, the breeze. At first he had spent the few days coming by the ocean under the moonlight when no one was around, still afraid to be seen by others. His welcome into the pack hadn’t been exactly the warmest, and he took it to heart. If the border guards were not use to seeing creatures like him, then chances are none of the pack was used to it either. So even though he had been properly let into the pack, he still felt like he had to hide. Now the sun was starting to sink down, the sky multiple colors as he looked up. Soon it would be dark, bringing in a cool breeze over the waves.

This is the earliest he had been out to the beach. Usually it wasn’t until the sun had set and the moon hung high in the sky. Now he had risked it, going out into an open area while there was still light in the sky. When he hadn’t been exploring, he had been trying to find all the herbs that grew around the packlands. He wasn’t sure if there was a garden or anything of the sorts, and didn’t dare touch anything without permission. Hickory had sorted the information into his memory instead, to come back to later if he were given a healing job. There were also new herbs around the area, which he didn’t know. It brought forth the fear that if he didn’t know enough, would he continue to be allowed into the packlands? He needed to feel useful, to feel like he had a purpose in this place. But standing on the beach, toes digging into the dark sand, he felt a calmness over him.

The thin boy sat down on the beach, all eyes open to take in everything that he could. Even if he wasn’t focused on it all, he was able to see the colors of the sky, the waves that were far away, and even some crashing onto the beach. It felt oddly peaceful, but there was some sense of taboo in being in such an open area. He had always been hidden, even in Borogrove. Hickory tried to keep his calm, taking too much pleasure in the breeze rolling over his faces. If anyone were to approach, he wouldn’t notice until they were too close for his comfort, and would easily startle. But until there was a reason for fear, the hellhound almost looked happy and at peace. It was something he had rarely felt.

I'm from the future
That's the last thing they'll hear me say
As I begin to uncontrollably shake

The sky was a blaze of color, hues of bright yellow and orange, gripped by pink and purple clouds that blended up into an indigo sky as the red sun sank behind a mountain face. Alteron's dense vegetation was left behind so long ago, often one would miss these pretty sights. The trees towering above, with foliage that collapsed inward that only made it feel like it they were trying to suffocate their subjects.

His paws skimmed over the bridge in a brisk walk, and not long he was over the mote and leaving the sleepy kingdom to it's own devices. There was no work for him within Alteron, no, it was never a proper fit. In fact, even that hilly place didn't really compare. Nothing would ever be 100% home, his blood screamed Saboro. His face? Marked with the red of it's paint. This is what you'll always be, Saboran, Hawkeye, Brother.

Mind would drift to the sweet Katti, when the two had found each other in the dead of winter. He'd professed his love and devotion to her after all these years, and once more the two were apart. The beams of red-orange light bled onto the ground through the trees and painted the male's back in a reddish dark hue. He could find her, where she may be and stay by her side.

He'd been a way for an awfully long time, freedom felt just as overwhelming as when he and Blue Sister had escaped from Saboro. A crunch of leaves and the male would turn his head, his lone eye seeking out the source and head tilting as a figure slowly neared him. "WHAT!?" He yelled, tail wagging slightly.
