  y'all got any inaria memes?

BELLAMY
YOU,

She saw him, minding his own business, not a care in the world, as if he wasn’t some freak

“I’ve been looking all OVER for YOU,”

She tripped as she was storming his way, faceplanting ever so delicately in a dried patch of mud, before picking herself up, dusting herself off, and continuing her march–

YOU,”

Bellamy finally stopped in front of Gaven and attempted to land both of her front paws on top of his boots to get a closer look at his face, and peer into the very windows of HIS SOUL. WHO IS HE …

“WHO ARE YOU??

WHAT are you?”

Rook had told her all about humans on their trek from Gemini to Inaria, when the pup first took note of Gaven and wondered aloud. Rook didn’t like humans. Ergo, Rook didn’t like Gaven. It was now up to Bell, of course, to find out exactly why, in a totally unbiased and professional fashion.

GAVEN
The Starreaver was vaguely aware he was being yelled at. The wiry creature bent over a sizeable piece of glass resting in his lap and used a very small, very sharp knife to carefully slice away his hair. The amount of concentration required to give himself a terrible haircut was so incredible he did not seem to notice the screaming child until she was in his face, staring up at him with large icy eyes. His own eyes widened for a moment, pausing, before he tilted his wrist and cut away the lock of chestnut hair he had grasped in his other hand, letting it harmlessly fall on her snoot like a wayward leaf.

Such demanding questions from someone who hasn’t introduced themselves, ah, but you must be royalty, I see it now,” Gaven hummed with amusement. “How important of you. No worries, your royal highness, all answers come in time.

He smiled playfully and flicked another chunk of hair in her direction.

It’s coat blowing season for elves apparently,” Gaven said. “Which is what I am.” He reexamined the mirror, ruffled his fringe, and sighed. “This just does whatever it wants. Hopeless. Anyway.

He brushed the rest of his untamed cuts of hair to the side and offered the little wolf the tiniest of sitting bows, “I’m Gaven, also known as The Starreaver, the Lorekeeper and Sabor of Gemini, how do you do?

BELLAMY
She didn’t notice the tuft of hair falling to her face, and gave THE CUTEST PUPPY SNEEZE when wayward strands landed on her nose. What came next was even more impertinent, however! After the second snip of hair fell unceremoniously on her, she jumped away and shook her whole body, before glaring back at the man with a pout.

“You’re INDOLENT.” The word was insolent. She had tried.

“But you’re right. I’m Bellamy. My mom RULES GEMINI'S LANDS. I’m sure you’ve seen her. She’s HUGE.” That was, of course, meant in the most endearing way possible. Big wolves such as mommy dearest held a big chunk of Bell’s heart.

She found another strand of hair on her nose. She “ptooey’d” it away.

“What are … elves? Rook said you were a human.

“Oh! Is it like with wolves and dogs? The same, but not exactly, right?” Now the question was; were elves the wolves, or dogs?

She rolled back onto her haunches and gave a good scratch behind the ear with her hind leg. “You sure have a lot of titles, Gwen. That don’t mean nothing to me, though. I just need one and I can bring anyone to heel.”

She glanced up at him, piece of glass still in lap and knife in hand. “Why do you do that to your fur? Is that why your face is naked? Did you cut away all your face-fur? ELVES have such STRANGE customs.”

GAVEN
You’re very loud. If we’re exchanging random facts about each other,” Gaven replied. “A pleasure to meet you, Bellamy. I am familiar with your very large mother, but not all of her many, many children or grandchildren.

Gaven stabbed the piece of grass into the soft ground next to him, stuck the knife in his belt, and dramatically collapsed on the ground. He was indolent, in fact. He was supposed to be socializing with the wolves of Inaria and making a good impression in the name of Gemini, but this was much better. The lands of Inaria were so lovely that all he could think about was relaxing. This was a vacation to him, one which he looked forward to, and he wasn’t going to waste his precious time doing anything of importance.

Who is Rook? A liar, I suspect,” Gaven mumbled as he stretched out on the ground. “It’s like that. You’re quite smart. Maybe you could be a Whisper…or take my job. I’m due for retirement.

He peered up at her boast of bringing anyone to heel and smirked. That sounded like a challenge.

No one brings me to heel.

Questions, questions.

I don’t grow fur on my face,” Gaven answered. “Some humans do. If I didn’t cut the fur on my head though, it would grow forever, down to my feet, and that would make life very difficult for me. My turn. How are you enjoying Inaria? It must be very exciting seeing all this for the first time, yes?

BELLAMY
Any humanoid creature plopping to the ground is a dangerous game when in the presence of a puppy, so when Gaven stretched himself out on the grass, Bellamy immediately jumped onto his chest and began probing her wet nose all over his face to get that SWEET, SWEET ELF SMELL ALL UP IN HER SINUSES. She also snuffled through his fur cloak, thinking she detected something tasty. Did he have treats hidden somewhere?!

Something he said made her stop, though, and stare. “Grand … children? You know my mom’s … grandchildren???” She knew she had older siblings, but the thought of them having kids of their own never crossed her mind.

She felt a bit dazed, and only snapped back to reality when she realized he was waiting on answers to … um, something.

“Sorry, um, yeah, Inaria’s pretty cool I guess, but it’s got nothing on my Gemini. I think the Inarians are weird, though. I found one starving to death in, like, a bush. He looked disgusting. I think the Inarians should visit us instead, though – see what a real kingdom looks like.” She proudly huffed at this, before returning to a contemplative expression.

She suddenly remembered the other pups on the trek that weren’t her littermates, and gasped. Then she proceeded to yell in Gaven’s face. “MY MOM’S GRANDCHILDREN!!! Was it those other kids when we were coming here?! Why does nobody tell me this stuff?! Doesn’t that make me an … an … AN AUNT?!”

GAVEN
The wolf dropped on top of him, her paws punching into his gut before squashing all the air out of his lungs. He was regretting this vacation, offering one miserable grunt as he was treated to a face full of wet wolf nose. Bellamy possessed godlike focus for a pup her age and was distracted only by the prospect of Serrate having grandchildren she didn’t know about. Gaven offered a response in the form of a drawn-out groan, urging her to take her paws off him.

Maybe you would appreciate the experience more if you spent less time trying to compare it with your homeland, hm?” Gaven suggested. “Inaria is lush with beautiful flora, plants that don’t grow in Gemini, and animals that don’t roam Gemini’s lands. Because it isn’t the same doesn’t mean it’s not valuable…and on the subject of filth and misery…one could say not everyone in Gemini is content.

A comment Bellamy may not appreciate, but one day she would know. This was an inevitable of life. There was no utopia, but they made the best of what they had while they were here.

Gaven lifted his arms as Bellamy began to shriek in his face, trying to gently push her off, and winced at her volume.

I’m sure some of them were…and, uh, yes? Congratulations on your flourishing family! You must be proud to hear the news.

Will You Forgive Me If I Feel This Way [Kyra]

Speech:#99ccff

Hakan must have been laughing. God, the old man must have been laughing so hard.

The old brown wolf had appeared one day from the island that Kyra was still resting on and thought it wise to give Alexander some...missions. Jobs of a sort; explaining rather vaguely about how they were to be for his daughter for when she returned home. The boy was to fetch as many of these herbs as possible and make sure not to return until the store had been restocked and, quite frankly overstocked for the 'in case of emergency'. The golden prince didn't wish to object any further than he had on the island so he took off without a word to do the old brown wolf's bidding.

That was almost a week and a half ago.

Alexander had been sent on job after job to reclaim and restock all of Nardir's herbs, medicines- you name it, it was on Alexander's list. He spent from sun up to sun down scouring the packs lands for everything. And just when he thought he was done- word would be sent that there was still more he needed to collect.

And then it stopped.

The morning came, as it usually did, with Alexander pulling himself up on tired limbs and heading towards the store to see what needed to be stocked. Yet as he walked in, the old brown wolf gave him a smile and gingerly told him not today. There would be time later, but he had done a good job and deserved a few days off. The golden prince's entire body shifted as his muscles relaxed, all too happy to hear the news.  He'd asked when perhaps the old healer thought Kyra would come home, and that's when it spilled. He didn't wait for Hakan to finish; all he needed to hear was, 'Oh I forgot to mention...' before he tore off through the center of the pack towards the castle; heart pounding as he shoved his way inside the rocky outcrop of homes and dens, ears perked for the sound of shrill crying.

Alexander was not disappointed when the cries rang out, echoing through the walls of the castle.

How had he not heard it? How had he been so blind as to not even notice? What was she going to think?! What kind of friend would just...would just forget to check up on their friend?! Alexander felt his heart plunge in to his stomach as his claws scraped against the rock surface as he bounded to the entrance of Kyra's den. To be honest, had it not been for the light of the little glowbug (or the shrill cry) he would never have assumed someone to be home.

Panting, Alexander took a step towards the entrance, pausing only to collect himself and inhale sharply as he sat down on his rump. He'd wait for her to beckon him in, but he'd at least do the semi reasonable thing.

"Hello?" he called out in to the den, tail wagging behind him as his ears perked waiting for her to answer. He'd deny it of course, but Alexander's heart was racing- pounding so hard in his chest as he thought about those few weeks apart. It had...perhaps been for the best; Hakan was correct in that they needed time apart and yet somehow he found himself here, sitting at the foot of her den waiting eagerly for the approval or denial of his entrance to her den.

"Miss Kyra?"

Fledglings' Flight [Kastra, Beatrice, Shimmah, Aeneas]

The Dark Moon Queen of Nardir                 ☿
[Image: divider_by_polarshockka-d8ceg2q.png]

"Being brave means to know something is scary, difficult, and dangerous, and doing it anyway, because the possibility of winning the fight is worth the chance of losing it.
- Emilie Autumn

Things had once again quieted down in the Moon Kingdom.  The outside threats of monsters and mayhem had been thwarted, and the internal family dramas had quelled.  Kyra was now the mother to two new Nardirians, and the pack was once again congregating together in celebration.  But a queen's work is never done.

Mercury therefore turned her attention to the last of the Wayward children.  Three youths remained in Nardir:  Shimmah (Shimmer? She would need to ask the girl which name she preferred.) and the two remaining children of the X Clan: Beatrice and Aeneas. With the disappearance of the X Clan after Akutan's desertion, Buckshot was now a single father.  Oh, she knew Adolph was playing a big role in caring for them, but the Elder could probably use a break.

They were yearlings, or thereabouts, as far as Mercury could tell.  Old enough that they should have already begun their training. With so much else to discuss, Alana had not stated how she had trained the youth of the pack in Mercury's absence.  Kastra would be the best to ask, and as usual, she relied on her nephew for the memories she did not have.  They had discussed his interest in taking on a more leadership role, and this would be a prime opportunity.  She would be able to mentor him and the children alike, although the curriculum would be vastly different between the students.

Waking early, she made her way from her den down to his, admiring the morning light on the waterfall that cascaded down the side of the cliff.  It would be a clear day, perfect weather for training.  Turning her head, she took in the view from the top spiral bridge. She ran the lake every morning, and did not find it overly tiring, but perhaps the children would be unaccustomed to the distance...  If Kastra led them, she'd be able to monitor from the rear... wasn't that how Byakko had done it?

"Kastra." She called softly at his door when she arrived. "I could use your assistance."

Let's go wrangle some kids.

Dies irae, dies illa,
solvet saeculum in favilla.
Confutatis maledictis,
flammis acribus addictis.
voca me cum benedictis.

The stone ruin was better-kept than most with the smell of fire and herbs making it obvious that it was occupied. The silver healer pushed the curtain of moss and ivy aside to indicate that the clinic was open and had a medic inside. It wouldn't be much use if there wasn't a medic to make a clinic a working clinic.

The stone ruin's interior was clear. A stone table separated a part of stone storage shelves, obviously the healer's workspace. She emptied her satchel on the table and began sorting the collected herbs into their own piles. She added to the inventory book on the table before adding the herbs to the large rock with widened crevices that held the rest of her supply. When she was done, the medic placed the book in the other shelf alongside other books and pulled another book out.

Behind her, the moss nests sat empty and the fireplace was barely-lit coals. A silver and grey pine marten padded from the upstairs with a greeting, "I see you've returned," she stated as she joined the medic at her desk. "Do you have anything new?"

I have pretty much every desirable herb in these stores, if I found something new, you would be the first one to know, the argent Aviari responded as she was reading through the same journal as always, her mother's journal. It had drawings and notes about almost every herb in Syn Cadrys.

"It's a nice day outside, Avinalora," the female said as she climbed onto the herb storage to look down at the moon-washed medic.

I can see that, Elkumis, the scarred female replied as she turned another page. I'm needed here.

       "I can tell. Elkumis deadpanned.

  [ACCEPTANCE] The prodigal daughter returns
Posted by: Calypso. - April 02, 2019, 01:57:38 AM - Replies (4)

First comes the blessing of all you've
dreamed
But then comes the curses of
diamonds and rings
Only at first did it have its
appeal
But now you can't tell the false from the
real

Calypso came back to the lands she had once called home a changed person. Her long, graceful neck was decorated in a multitude of necklaces. She didn't usually wear these many but she wanted to show off and look her best. There were more treasures in the rucksack around her shoulder.

It was night by the time that the prodigal daughter returned to the place she had once called home. After all of this time, she wondered if it was how she remembered. Well, she barely remembered before her absence so it could be a castle for all she remembered. Or after so much time had passed it might not even be there.

How much could change in two springs?

There was something telling the tri-colored loner that she was going in the right direction. She didn't know where she was going but something kept her paws going. She remembered how it had been, would it be different now? She hoped and prayed that they were still in this area. But the girl knew not to get her hopes up.

Finally, the amethyst-eyed adventurer couldn't keep hoping that they were here. She had to know they were here. With that, she raised her head and let out a howl, "I'm coming home!"

Then the bloodied daughter stood there, waiting, praying that it was someone that would recognize her.

All dressed up for a hit and run
Posted by: Fiammetta - March 27, 2019, 03:18:38 PM - Replies (2)

The day was nice as always, it wasn't sleeting, hailing, or raining which was great for Fiammetta. It was way too early to be freezing her ass off god knows where. That would be a downright horrible start to a lovely day though she knew how easy it was for a day to go from good to total shitstorm.

She had had way too many incidents of wondering if hell had an exchange program.

The hellion was on another patrol of the territory, once again getting bored only halfway in. She decided to have some fun and in a split second, she leaped up a tree trunk like a bat out of hell, or a fox. Whatever quibbles. She padded along the tree branches, looking from this new vantage point and seeing pretty much nothing interesting.

Well at least until she spied a pretty-looking pelt below. A sly smile and then a cheshire grin split her face. Now this would be an interesting day and she could make a good impression on that girl.

The fiery fox leaped from her branch and bounced off of the next tree trunk in front of the girl. She looked up and with a sly smile she said, "Hello, beautiful! You come here often?"

Fiammetta walked a tail's length from the border that separated Inaria from the outside world. She wanted an actual challenge since this job was already boring unless she had someone to let into the great lands. Unfortunately, as of recently, Inaria hadn't been the destination for most nomads looking for a home.

It was their loss, who wouldn't want to live in this purple tree paradise?

So now the hellion was left to pace and walk until her legs fell off or she decided that she was done for the day. It wasn't easy with her stubborn self and even if this job was a bit soul-sucking the life out of her, she wouldn't give up so easily. That was not how she worked. Even though the fiery female would sell her soul for something interesting to happen to her.

In hindsight, selling your soul was not a good idea but when did she have good ideas?

The green-eyed Sentinel found herself back at the place she started when she began her patrol and she felt like she was done. Well it wouldn't do her any good to overwork herself, was it? Screw whatever she thought earlier, she was done for the day and decided to go on a break to do something else. The lead sentinel wouldn't care, would they? She thought not.

The feisty fox trotted back into the Inarian forests.

I Am Your Brother Under the Sun [Jase]

Speech:#99ccff

The swim back at early morning was colder than what it should have been. Perhaps it was sleep deprivation, perhaps it was a lack of eating food for several days and an intense desire to look after his friend that drained him, but whatever it was, it left Alexander absolutely shivering as he made it across the water and to the other side of the shore. He was to search out Jase per Hakan's orders and begin working under him- as if learning from the blue wolf was going to rip his mind from the worry that already plagued him. The golden prince gave a long, drawn out sigh as his claws gripped the unsteady earth at the banks of the main pack lands; soaked body turning once more to watch the tiny old healer on the island turn away and make his way towards the den. The prince felt once more a pang of anger cross his chest but it quelled as he shook himself dry. He wasn't one to argue or to cause a scene, and so he would simply do as he was told and try his best not to harbor any ill wills towards the elder who was only seeking out the best for him.

He would try the castle first; perhaps the head healer hadn't awoken yet at such an early hour (he doubted it honestly) and he'd be able to catch him at the beginning of his day. Yet as the prince strolled through the forest that he had begun to remember as home, his nose would catch the scent of the head healer. It was hard to not know the smell of one you spent so much time with in a hot cave in the middle of the night while trying to deliver babies.

"Jase!" he'd call out as he turned on a heel and bounded in the direction of the smell. His voice would be louder than his legs at this point, and he wasn't about to chase this boy down through the pack lands if he could help it.

"Jase?" Alex would call again, his limbs shaking as he slowed from a run to a walk; exhaustion fully settling in as he looked around for the other. He was surely around here somewhere, but the key was the where.

The golden prince let out a soft groan as he fell to his rump and closed his eyes. He'd find the healer for sure, but for now...for now he needed a quick sit down and a breather.

  Tumblr War [Gem visit]
Posted by: Ki Tisa - March 26, 2019, 10:49:02 PM - No Replies

Mismatched eyes watched the twinkling stars above as the girl settled in the soft grass for the night. She doubted that she would be able to sleep, the seasonal cycle of her insomnia encroaching with the eventual winter, but at least the nighttime show was a sight worth staying up for.

She curled her tail around herself, and listened to the nearby river babble in the night. The wraith had been a rare sight around Inaria as of late. Weiss knew she had duties as the kingdom's Emissary to uphold, but had been struggling with the death of her brother. She knew she should be out there, mingling with the wolves from the cliffs, but couldn't find the energy or will to try. What happened to the boy who had shared the title with her, who seemed too perfect for the job? Weiss was not personable, she wasn't someone who people wanted to talk to or go to with their problems. Hell, she didn't even know any of her nieces or nephews, and had only seen them once at Wheatley's-

A failure- that's what she was. No one would doubt the claim.

In the comfort of her own company a tear, fat and shining, budded in the corner of her eye before rolling down to dampen and darken the fur of her cheek. She was falling apart and grasping at the shards of glass. Her nails, split and bleeding at the funeral, had still not healed fully because she had taken to compulsively chewing them raw. She tucked her feet underneath herself, embarrassed and ashamed.

At least she didn't have anyone to see the state she was in but the stars above, and no matter what happened on the world below they would always continue to turn and glow.

Poor Weiss! If only she could keep her solitude and her distant, galactic voyeurs. But wolves are social creatures, and nature is not so kind to allow them to revel in loneliness like the disgruntled bear or prowling cougar. Most of all, it's just not how the story goes.

Ki Tisa came to Inaria because his legs were itchy, he couldn't remember the last couple weeks, and Gemini weighed heavily on the spine sometimes. The destination didn't matter so much as long as he could run for miles. To his chargrin, he was still restless days after "settling" into the purple flower kingdom, and under the moonlight he finds no reason to settle down.

So, while the wraith mourns the grievances that hang so pregnant in her soul, an idiot boy blunders into her space because she is something interesting and oh shit is she crying ABORT  but it's too late he's directly in her line of vision and he forgets how to move those itchy legs all of a sudden. Uhhhh how does one social, interaction, crying person, uuhuhhhhhh....

"Heey," ok good start, those are definitely words. "You uh. Hm." Keep trying, you got this. "Sheesh you look terrible." NO.

The hair on the back of her neck hardly has time to rise before she's reflexively rearing back and blinking wildly at this body that was all of a sudden waaaaay too close to her. She's left off balance and frazzled by the interruption that ripped her from her meditation, and it takes a few moments of instinctive back-steps and full-on raised hackles for her to recognize those eyes that had seemed like the missing pairs of her own. Of course, if you were into that sappy garbage or whatever.

"Heey," "Hey there-" "You uh. Hm. Sheesh you look terrible."

God, what a DICK.

Still, she found herself ugly snort-laughing at his terrible introduction. At least it was better than his last one when he was busy dragging those bleeding feet everywhere. How long had it been since Gemini had last been in Inaria? With all the puppies around, she hadn't expected to see the boy again since he wasn't exactly the typical pupsitter type. But it was a nice surprise to see a friendly face, she figured, especially since she had fallen into a terrible cycle of self-isolation these days.

She met his eyes for a moment and then pretended to turn her nose up at him. Her face, shifted slightly away, hid the fact that it threatened to break out with a rare grin.

"Well, you," she rubbed hard at her nose to try to stop the last of the sniffles, and peeked a slit of a red eye at him. "You smell like a gross boy. Like you've been sweating ALL day."
