All Medicines Are Poison ((Healer/Gardener Recruitment))
Posted by: Argentum - October 09, 2018, 12:09:20 AM - No Replies

Argentum stripped the fur from his kill with quiet efficiency, spreading grey fur around his garden as the wind took it. A large, fat rat had been creeping around Argentum's roses for the last few days. Probably hoping to find hips. It hadn't been stealthy enough tonight.

The dark fox's little garden was laced with plants that needed special care - wild garlic, eucalypti and twisting wild roses already starting to take over his den. Little gold and red flowers had already started to appear and give off their honey sweet scent, their nectar attracting all types of insects. The buzzing was audible over everything as bees collected what they needed to store.

It was getting colder in Arcana. With winter coming they needed to fill their ranks if they were to survive. Guards they could live without if those inside their skulk would pick up the slack. All of Fae and Bellamy's pets they could live without if he was honest. But hunters, healers...those they needed for the new Arcana to thrive.

Argentum narrowed his eyes at his kill. Foxes were generally solitary killers, but put against wolves? Wolves and cats with icy prisons saw foxes as prey. Argentum gave a little shiver that had nothing to do with the current temperature. The whole reason he had chosen to recreate his old home was for survival. Fae and Bellamy could hold all the shows they wanted. At the end of the day Arcana needed more than stolen trinkets.

Standing  and lifting his head to the side Argentum let loose a series of yowls to bring anyone close near. He had a lesson to give.

I don't know why I never posted this. Avery and Echo's battle with Rannoch.

Her body burned hot and her jaws exhaled breath like steam. Slavery was hell, and it swam like a school of biting fish in her vessels. Slavery was hell, and it disfigured her lip on the left side, twisting and wrinkling the skin into a sneer. Slavery was hell, it was atrocious, it was unforgivable, and the fuel spilled into her like the arterial blood from Alistar's throat was set aflame by her charge... toward those that kept it happening in the world.

Avery never saw Rannoch coming; she'd actually been zoning in on the white coyote seemingly tossing out orders to the mob. If it was their leader, she would seize it up and snap its scrawny neck from the word go. But when the firebird heard the shout, so loud to the ears of the beast in battle, she seemed almost to halt in midair for a fraction of a second, head swinging wildly left, before two different males bashed into her like mallets. What's black, and red, and white all over? These three, apparently.

Scrambling to her paws, determined not to be caught on the ground, Avery snarled low and vicious when she saw it, a big old male biting deep into Echo's flesh. You didn't have to do that, she thought absurdly, and aimed teeth high, for Rannoch's face.

alteron, we're finally HERE AT THE PARTY!!!

okay so, if you could pop in here with your character before you start posting in inaria that'd be great!
as always bullet point posts are perfectly fine and acceptable!
we're under inaria law so be mindful that if your character does something it icly, they'll have to face ic consequences if they're caught.

backstory:
- ghost extended an invite to us as a show of good faith and further seal the alliance between us
- telana offered that alteron would bring food, so we're carrying a big ol caravan of stuff
- since we have no kids you guys are more than welcome to teach the young lil babies, or just mingle with people, it's up to you!!

have fun, be strange, you funky lil cowboys

Three days, maybe two? It had taken for them to reach the borders of Inaria, a small handful of them having taken it upon themselves to join her for the trip to Inaria. It didn't surprise her that Falco opted for staying behind, he was a wild card, yes, but Telana was sure the Magus liked the security of his kingdom. What did surprise her however was her nephew, Cocytus, the Sun. He sprang at the idea, and in any other situation the woman would have raised a brow and heckled the reason out of him, but he had prior knowledge of Inaria and its people, and that was an indispensable resource.

The night they left she had been to the Star, collecting whatever medical needs were necessary for her to make this trip. She'd have enough for the trip there and back, brilliant. Though even now, through the careful dosage of herbs, she could feel the familiar ache of her joints.

The Hierophant paused, looking back to her people as the sun greeted her face for the first time in what felt like forever. Amber eyes would fall upon the food they had brought with them. She had promised King Ghost a show of good faith, and Lana had settled on keeping such promises. "We're here." She addressed them calmly, but that air of authority hung from her words, side eyeing Cocytus wherever he stood before looking back to the group. "Before I allow you to step foot into this pack, allow me to address somethings first." Her fur bristled as keen eyes scanned each of their faces.

"This is not our home, we are under their law, so don't do anything that will see to you getting in trouble, secondly, the Major Arcana are working towards a fruitful alliance with Inaria, don't mess this up for us." The ground work being laid down, she'd flick her tail. "They're just as much strangers to us as we are to them, remember that, flapping lips sink ships." Whatever threat she was alluding to wouldn't be dished out by her, as much as she loved her secrets. The boys took pleasure in that sort of thing. "Lastly, we are here to represent Alteron, to show them how we are. Show them only what WE want them to see." An uneasiness stirred within her as she moved to the side.

"Now go, and make us proud."

@Kiri

The days had begun to grow shorter, he never could quite catch why that happened, especially when it just felt as if they all ran together in the end. But afternoon was settling on the taiga forest, with a familiar nip in the air. The sky painted in all matter of colors, vivid oranges, pinks, and a smokey purple that faded into a lilac. The star swept youth took a page from his brother Niph's book then, leaving the quiet of the den to watch the skies, unlike his brother, Saturn was full alert. The sound of soft crunching leaves and the brushing noise of grass catching his attention. Someone with very soft steps didn't want him to hear them, he turned then, in the completely wrong direction. "I'm busy sitting right now." He said blankly. "You can sit too though and watch the sky." He'd turn his head then and point it toward the sky. If his company took the time to inspect the large wolf wrapped in stars, they'd notice that Saturn actually couldn't even see the sky. His hair covering his face almost entirely.

Rumbles around them, as they sat dazed in trees, uncertain of how they suddenly appeared here. Were they not lingering in the poppy field moments ago? Not... in this thick trucked trees, with a soft comforting rumble around them. "Wait.", was forceful, numbly mumbled. Pairs of golden eyes piercing in impatience, only for a second before the illusion dissolved into the back of their mind. Not that... There was much complaint, but... Had Seneca not been in the comfort of Oriana not long ago? Sudden realization of being utterly alone made their stomach lurch, must find... Home... Family... Bonds.

They'd move along, leggy wolf with crazed wide multicoloured eyes searching. Flashing returning, the pack had fallen into disarray after Mother's disappearance. Father had betrayed them, allowing Enys to be killed before their very eyes while Hodge and them clung to one another. Panic began to rise, as well as the pain of loss and sting of that betrayal. Seneca began to pace back aimlessly, weaving through trees, eyes turning large and watery and their breathing became thick and heavy.

"Wh-...where are they? They'd begin gently, head suddenly jolting over their shoulder to the emptiness behind them, gloirous locks of dark hair casting over their shoulder like a Pantene commercial. "WHERE? WHERE ARE THEY?" Wailed out, a mixture of panic and aggression. Demanding answers "WHERE? AM I? MOM? ENYS? HODGE? S-omeone?" Shouts that echoed eerilily through the spaces between the trees, cut into a choked sob. Seneca was scared, confused... lost. They'd suddenly begin to cackle, emotion overload.

The New Era: Stoneclaw Land Claim
Posted by: Roderik - October 06, 2018, 02:05:05 AM - Replies (5)

When he had sought a pride to join and found none, Roderik had been perplexed. Then an idea began to grow in his heart. It started it out as a feeling, which then grew into a hope. Stoneclaw wasn't a land; Stoneclaw was a clan. Somewhere out there, he knew there were others like him in this wolf dominated world aching for a place to call home. They could make it happen; they could find it together. At first he had dismissed the idea... it was preposterous, he wasn't a king.

But... his father had been; and his grandfather before him; and his big sister had been queen alongside his mother. If they could do it, why couldn't he? Why shouldn't he? The feeling inside grew stronger and stronger, until it grew into a battle cry.

And so Roderik passed through the lands, letting the sound of his call echo as he passed, telling all who wanted to hear that Stoneclaw would rise again. He knew he was still young and because of this he saw many a cat frown, shake his head and walk away. He didn't let that deter him. For every few that ignored him, others would share his ideals and decide to join him. Roderik never abandoned his hope, and knew that small beginnings could make great things in time with hard work and dedication.  Already, their makeshift gang began to feel like a small clan. Those first few nights sleeping tightly together under the stars reminded him of a time that seemed far away, when he would do the same with his siblings. He wondered where they were, but reassured himself they were okay. He hoped perhaps, if he could rise Stoneclaw from it's ashes again and make it burn bright like a beacon, then more would come. Perhaps his missing siblings among them... and his mother.

They had stopped the night before in a peaceful forest. The moonlight had filtered through the trees as most members of his small group had slept among the ferns that covered the forest floor. They had all feasted on rabbits, that seemed to run rampant through the strange mystical forest as though no predator had culled their numbers in a long time. On the edge of the forest, a vast prairie engulfed in a sea of fog seemed to stretch on forever. Rabbits alone could not sustain a clan; they would have to move on.

"Maybe we should turn back...", suggested one of the travelers.

But Roderik stared at the endless prairie, as though it was pulling him in like a void.  "Wait, do you smell that?", he asked in response. Something familiar was on the wind, though he couldn't quite put his mind on it. He needed to find out what it was... and why it pulled him the way it did. As they crossed the prairie, the group almost turned back half way. The strength of the winds that day was nearly enough to knock them off balance as they traveled, but Roderik encouraged them. That feeling in his chest told him he was close to something, though what he could not tell. Then the endless prairies ended, suddenly and almost without warning. Roderik stood at the edge of the cliffs with the others, taking the sights ahead of them. Below, a magnificent beach stretched out from the caves carved into the cliffs and into the sea. The sun shining on the sea caught his attention and he smiled. That was what he had caught on the wind... the smell of the sea; always a comforting presence and a willing source of food.

"This! This is it!"

Here, he felt Stoneclaw would thrive.
He felt the spirit of their ancestors in the wind.
He felt the beginning of something bigger than himself.

"We're home."

Roderik threw his head out in the air and sent his roar, as loud as he could give it, to throw to the sea; to let the elements know that from this day forward, this was Stoneclaw territory.

Posted by: Hum - October 04, 2018, 05:55:29 PM - No Replies

After Arcana had fallen, he had found himself with a wandering artist. Hum wasn’t his pet, but more of a friend. No, the guy already seemed to have someone that would be considered a pet. ”We grew up together.” They both would say, and look at each other wise some kind of connection Hum didn’t share. But it helped to keep him happy. Some animals also joined in on their journey, learning to paint and create while going towards their destination. Two others had been with the human longer than Hum, and were still there when he left. They spent their nights around a bonfire, sometimes painting on another, sometimes making a blanket, or general crafting and arts. What they did gave Hum a bag to carry his supplies with him. He started to feel human, almost too human, but he went with it.

Then he had some calling, and he and his little hummingbird left. The human gave him some smoked jerky for their travels, making it so he didn’t have to hunt on his way. Eventually he had come across Arcana reforming, and had rejoined. Now, with lands in their paws, he was relaxing in a den he had claimed. He had found it and then dug around to make it bigger, giving enough space for all the things the human had given him. Paints dyed his paws now, with some kind of paper in front of him. No, he wasn’t that good of an artist, but it had made him happy. This time, though,  he stared at the paper with some kind of anger or annoyance. It wasn’t the same, painting alone. Or at least not without the others around him. Hum sighed, walking out of the den.

Little Friend landed on his head, cocking his head to the side. “I just, can’t paint.” Little Friend jumped around some, and Hum continued to walk, grass sticking to his paws were some of the wet paint still remained. The fox went down to a creek, walking into the water. Greens and yellows swirled in the water around him, with a tiny bit of blue. Little Friend sat on a rock beside the creek, hopping around. “I need inspiration or something, I dunno.” He took a comically big gulp of water. He walked back onto the shore, not even shaking his pelt, and sat down in front of Little Friend. “Any ideas?

Day broke over a quiet land, and what was to be said?  The Valley's giants slumbered endlessly like the old gods of a lovecraftian horror. Cosmic and ageless, they wouldn't miss this one pawn. As the air chilled over his back, the winds stirred for a new change beckoning beyond the borders of this forgotten place.

He'd remember it, through reptilian eyes, and mind haunted by images of a pale, lovely face. His ghost hidden among the reeds and cradling their children. Majority would be eternal.

The wind whipped again as an overcast sky glowed, otherworldly above him. Venomous green eyes looked ahead to an unknown horizon, it spelled a promising future for him as he made his way through the scar of the burnt forest maze. The very faint smell of a border and he walked over them, even if hesitant at first. Freedom called, however there was something shadowy lurking from behind. Stalking and trying his hand at being menacing. "Go away, you little shit." The old captain snorted, turning his head slightly to the inky form of the judge.

The little hornet of the valley, a gross little worm with his barred teeth and ugly sneer. "These are MY lands, the Valley's lands. You're leaving!" A brow raised from the large slate colored brute, as Ronove snorted derisively though didn't make a move to stop the other. "YOUR lands? That sounds a bit like treason to me, Judge Pathos... Jitte? Whatever the fuck you are. I'm just going for a walk." Tatari grumbled, a threat looming not far behind, turning again and walking on and out.
