K y r a,
Oh don't you dare look back, Just keep your eyes on me
I said you're holding back, She said shut up and dance with me actions - “speech” - thoughts
Kyra paused her retreat and stood just as Sara came out of the bushes. Oh good, then hopefully she could hear how Akutan was doing herself. Kyra listened to Sara's report with attentiveness but ease as she knew most of the details, but then felt a tug of concern and creased her brow as the white woman revealed Akutan might have a permanent limp from his injuries. She didn't know it was going to be that bad. On the way back out when Mercury dismissed her Kyra was determined to at least check on him. She pricked her ears about the strange topic of some kind of conversation between her mate and the Queen and wondered why would Sara and Byakko know about it but not her. She watched as Sara retreated, somewhat disturbed at what she had heard. As her name was called again she squared up and met Mercury's gaze steadily. "You have proven capable. - I am placing you in charge. See to the rest of the mission." With a curt nod and a last glance to the rest of the council, she tucked her concerns aside and knew that Sara could handle Akutan getting back to the castle. She had a job to do. "Consider it done." and she flicked her tail as she turned away, already a plan to get them all moving again forming on her mind as she broke into an easy endurance run back to the group. She'll barely be out of breath when she gets there.

The old healer followed the conversation and nodded sagely as each elder said their piece about Mirai and Arik and the isle. But it seemed the topic was to be cut short when Adolph alerted them to a new interruption. Hakan smiled as his daughter was the first to come up with some stranger in tow. He couldn't get a good look at him as she introduced him because the newcomer was hiding behind Kyra, but something about even the glimmer he could see, for some reason, made his heart leap. As Sara then came and gave her own report Hakan creased his brows in concern, an image mirrored by his daughter, and watched as Byakko leaped up, an alacrity unfit for his wellbeing. As Sara continued her report Hakan leaned over to his friend for a side conversation. "Calm yourself friend. It is indeed upsetting. I trust Sara knows what she's doing and it sounds like he'll be alright. He's still alive, at least its a limp and not half a face." He jabbed Byakko gently to come back down to earth and rest his retiring bones. The healer nodded to Raka to make sure she was on the same page. When Sara left, Hakan raised a brow as Mercury praised his daughter and put her in charge. Was his firecracker ready for that challenge while trying to keep her pregnancy under wraps? Her response nearly made him beam with pride but he tried a proud smile before she left as well. And Then... The stranger approached and Hakan could not keep his jaw from dropping. His heart leaped, this time to confirm exactly what he recognized. He was older... confused for sure but he would never forget a child he helped bring into the world and then become one of his own dear apprentices. "Hello," Said a voice from his own memory, "My, my name is Tobie. I was hoping, I was hoping you could help me." Before anyone else could speak, it was Hakans turn to stand on his paws, though he did so as if in a dream. "Tobie? No." He said with certainty, as if he could deny the newcomer entry into their pack, no, he was denying the name the boy had given them, "No, not Tobie. Alexander." He croaked half with emotion and half in awe. "My own two eyes have seen your first breath in this world, I have heard your first cries as I attended and assisted your mother in birthing you here. A difficult birth wrought with tension and alarm. My own first task in these lands..." He took a calm step forward as if he could barely believe it. "No, not Tobie. You are as much of these lands as your sister, Queen Mercury is here. Alexander The Lost Prince of Nardir, and my own Apprentice, I'm so glad your home." He said emotionally, hoping he had not pushed Alex's memories too fast, nor force the closeness he had once had with the boy. Though certainly no boy any longer. The old healer reached his nose to maybe touch the boys forehead, was it really him? Of course it was.
