Warning: strong language (most of it's German though but still)
The cold taiga was marginally less frigid than it had been yesterday which should have tipped Steliana that something was off. Maybe it was because it was ass-o'clock in the morning and she really didn't want to haul herself to the first ring just for some willow sap but she'd accidentally locked her hip - her hips hated sudden movement and certain turnings of her legs - and now it felt like someone hit her hip with a piece of driftwood. What a nice way to start the morning silently screeching in pain as if the hybrid's week hadn't been short of a circle of hell.
You didn't even need to know German to figure out what the argent wraith said as a mixture German and common-tongue peppered with harsh curses were forced out of her every five minutes or so. Soon other curses in other languages also joined her swear-fest but German words quickly replaced them. She liked German, there were a lot of ways to curse. The silver medic kept most of her weight off of her left side and was thankful that the birds decided not to come with her or she'd have to deal with one of those bastards trying to catch a ride on her. All she needed to do was find a willow tree - a lot harder than you'd expect in this evergreen-infested hellhole - and then the jackal-wolf have relief from the pain that so rudely assaulted her in the early hours of the morning. And now the doctor had to trek home and hopefully not fuck up her hip in the process. She wanted to go back to sleep but that had gotten her into this situation in the first place. She had to face the day it seemed and she eyed the rising sun with a glare that would have set a forest ablaze. The cream and slate woman began to trek back to the second ring and to her home, muttering another string of mostly German curses mixed with common tongue. OOC:
Got bored and wrote this up for fun with Steliana. She not a morning person XD. Feel free to try to lift her spirits or something. Bonus of learning new words! Wolf stock by CastleGraphics

The last time he caught someone disturbing their borders early morning, Gabriel nearly had her head. He's in a better mood today, almost getting used to the unnatural stench that pervades the territory. At least this one isn't genuinely trying to garner attention, but letting out their own frustrations. He can't fault her that. Gabriel isn't a fan of mornings, either-- in fact, he'll take the distraction over squinting against the sunrise on their east borders. "I understood some of that," he speaks up from just a bit behind her, pelt glowing gold in the dawn behind him. "Are you alright?" |

Steliana was lucky that her hip's pain began to fade as the willow took effect. Now it left her sour mood of being awake at the crack of dawn. No one wanted to be up at this hour - well at least not involuntary, unless they had an unnatural amount of pep - and if she had a choice, she wouldn't be up either. She didn't like sleeping in too much but didn't like waking up too early. But this was past too early and if anyone woke her up at this hour, they would be removed from her life. Unfortunately, the jackal-wolf's hip couldn't be removed from her life. The argent wraith had to stop herself from glaring daggers at whoever spoke to her and held back her witty comment in case it was one of her superiors. She looked up and didn't recognize the wolf that spoke to her but to her knowledge, he wasn't one of the high class, elites, or royals. But she knew that there were people that would rip your face off if you looked at them, same class or not. So the silver medic settled for a deadpan expression since anything else would be pointless for her to try to attempt with her mood. Wolf stock by CastleGraphics

He's amused at first by her spitfire response, brow quirking up with interest. "I gleaned that much, at least." Gabriel is Saboran, born and raised-- if she expects a short answer to send him off, she must not recognize them. He takes the few steps necessary to round her, now squinting into the sunrise himself, but a better impression of polite conversation. "What exactly is the dumb fuckin' reason you're up at the arse of dawn, anyway?" The Sentry hasn't heard that language-- as far as his recollection, at least-- so it's a rough translation at best, and outright guesses in reality. He isn't afraid to poke the bear-- especially considering she's about as formidable as a koala. |

Steliana's memory came up short when it came to names and faces, pairing names to faces and faces to names. She often had difficulty telling two similarly-looking individuals apart, even if they weren't remotely related. She often forgot things about others, especially if it wasn't particularly interesting to her.
However, as the male lingered, the memory wheels turned in her brain, stirring up some things that she realized she knew about this male. He wasn't a Chemist, wasn't a Slab, and wasn't one of the high class. She remembered that he had something to do with fighting and protection. And his name started with a "Gæ" sound and was smooth-sounding. Gavin? Something that sounded like that. The cream and monochrome female was amused by the wolf's translation of her foreign words and he got only one of them right. dumpkofen meant "dumbass", not "dumb fucking", that would be a different word. "Oh, dumbass, of course; pardon my language," he snarks, trying to get a smile out of her. Unlikely, but a noble goal, at least. A glance reveals an assortment of scars, but nothing recent enough to cause the sort of pain to wake someone. Besides, the way she stands favours the right front, and he can't see anything on her back left-- from this angle, at least. Ironic, isn't it, a healer in pain? For no good reason, either. He keeps the judgement out of his voice when wondering, "Don't you keep that sort of thing in stock?" Remind him to see someone else if he's injured. |

Steliana noticed how the sentry scanned her after she mentioned she was in pain. Saboro was a place where the weak did not survive for long. But her hip rarely affected her unless she was to move her leg a certain way or twist around too much and set it off. It hadn't plagued her in a while and never this badly, perhaps she had set it off a while before she actually woke up. Well, at least she knew that it was still there.
The jackal-wolf's hip problem wasn't a defect from her birth. It had happened after she decided to try to practice with one of the warriors-in-training when she was not much older than a yearling. The der scheißkerl gave her no warning of what he was going to do when he instructed her to attack him and she grabbed his shoulder as her first attack. What a fucking idiot she was. With no knowledge on how to land correctly or any idea of what would happen, the male came around to grab her and flipped her onto the hard ground. The golden-eyed Chemist had shaken it off, still stunned but even young Steliana was stoic for a kid. However the hip problem started up after that and there was nothing that could be done. She never forgot or forgave the fucker that did it. The tri-colored medic looked up as the male asked her if she had those herbs she came out for on stock. OOC:

He nods at her explanation, striding off to the side. Out from her long early-morning shadow, the sun makes his light fur shine. "Maybe you should start your own stock." His voice is still a touch sleep-husky, but he's up by choice. He'd rather be out early morning than late at night any day. Gabriel scans the border, as close to the horizon as his eyes can lift before being blinded, and turns back to the Chemist. "Forgive me, I can't recall your name?" |
