His time spent in Nardir was not going unnoticed. Alexander found himself swirling around meeting other members of the pack who gasped when they saw him, or traded whispers behind his back of what his return meant for the fate of Nardir. It was hearsay, naturally, but it still left him feeling uneasy and out of touch with a family he was supposed to know and somehow didn't. There was one thing he did know fore certain, and it was something that had plagued his heart since his meeting with the council. He had never thanked the red girl who helped him. So as morning turned to day the golden male set off with one quest in mind; find and thank her. Alexander had no idea where he was going either as he traipsed the landsecape, pausing every now and again to take in the sights that surrounded him. He didn't know where his paws were leading but somehow he trusted his movements more than his brain. The boy was coming to realize as he walked that there would be many questions he'd have for this stranger who was so kind enough to help him; the fear of overwhelming began to seep in to his brain. He remembered the black and gold one (his sister?) order the red girl...what was her name- he knew he'd heard it from the leader- to do something, whatever that something was. It wasn't much to go on but it was a start. Perhaps if he was lucky enough, he'd catch her before she headed out to do that thing. Boy, remembering was harder than he thought when so many new variables entered the equation. At any rate, the boy took off with a trot in the hopes of finding her before she disappeared. Kyra was dog tired. It had been a big day and a lot had happened. All she wanted to do was sleep in her den, maybe at least check on Akutan. From what Sara had said at the meeting he wasn't in good shape. Even though he had been practically ignoring her the entire trip here she wasn't all that interested in cuddling him. He'd probably need space to heal anyway. It was still early and carrying these kids was so hard, but she didn't want to announce too early in case something happened. With a snort she swatted at a few blades of grass as she made her way back from the mission for a break. She looked up to reorient herself to the castle and saw a new familiar figure make his way toward her. Oh she hoped he wasn't getting chased out, he seemed sweet. Her grumpy face had changed to a pleasant surprise as he came closer, "Oh hey Tobie! Looks like their done with you already eh? Hope your not getting chased out." She greeted and asked looking to see if someone was on his tail. He seemed alone, so he probably had the run of the place like they all did. It was good to have new members of the pack.

"Oh hey Tobie! Looks like their done with you already eh? Hope your not getting chased out." He hadn't been paying attention. Honestly, he'd spent the better part of his time looking for Kyra by looking and taking in the surroundings that now enveloped his entire soul. Every now and again as he'd walked, he'd happen upon another jolt of a memory; some visual or sensual cue that drove him to stopping and taking it in before sucking in a deep, shaky breath and continuing on. Yet it was her voice that snapped him from his daze. Truth be told- as he found himself walking towards he, his brain had not remotely registered another being approaching- yet her voice was like a cool breeze cutting through a sickly muggy day. The golden wolf snapped to attention instantly; head jerking up and ears perking with a small smile pressed across his lips. His journey it seemed had not been in vain. But as the red one spoke to him, he couldn't help but feel a certain sense of familiarity with the name she referred to him as, and the sudden sense of overwhelming embarrassment. Did he know her from his childhood? Had he forgotten her like the rest of them? Harkening back to hours ago and the brown colored male who was old in age but seemed far wiser than his years let on, he couldn't help but entertain the possibility that he was in fact the lost prince of this pack. The entire council it had seemed, was left in shock with his arrival. Anything it seemed was possible. Alexander lowered his head in a courteous bow, offering a slight nervous chuckle as she finished. He could see the smile on her face and the exhaustion behind the facade she so desperately tried to keep up. "I--uh," he began, shifting on front paws for a moment, offering a mirror to her own. He wasn't so much exhausted as he was extremely nervous. What if he had fooled all of them? The Council seemed certain enough to entertain it, so why couldn't he? "No, no- they haven't kicked me out," he said after a moment, ears lowering atop his head before perking back up. He broke his gaze with her a moment, the flooding sensation of embarassment coursing through his veins once more, "in fact they uh, they uh, this one older male- brown fur...some tattoos? I didn't catch his name, I uh, I've been pretty bad at catching anyone's names, heh..." He paused, looking back up to her with a soft smile before realizing it and blinking quickly. He was dragging this on far too long. "The older brown male- he seems to think I'm uh...royalty? He told me my name isn't Tobie...He says it's Alexander." The realization and weight of that final sentence sunk in as he repeated it out to her, and he couldn't help but look down at the ground, hiding his confused and pained face from her. She didn't need to see his exestential crisis; she clearly had enough going on with some mission- this should have been the least of her concerns. Alexander took in a deep breath and lifted his head, offering another soft smile and a gentle tail wag. "So I guess, err, I guess I should re-introduce myself. Hello, my name's Alexander? - it's very nice to meet you. And thank you." Down an unknown road

She honestly couldn't help but smile as he stammered and was nervous in front of her. Holy stars was this cute! She sat there waiting patiently for him to finish describing her father and somehow get out that her father had barreled over him and told him his own name as the Prince of Nardir. She tilted her head with a sweet smirk as he re-introduced himself and she just wanted to squish him! She hadn't really come across anyone this sweet to her that hadn't already caught her on a bad day and avoided her like the plague. She was sure that once he got to know her though he'd be chased off eventually. Or maybe some of his sweetness could possibly rub off on her? "Well, that'd be my dad, Hakan. Master healer and all, thinks he knows everything." she said rolling her eyes. He honestly didn't seem comfortable with the name Alexander, and if her Dad was going to go around declaring someone's identity without them coming around to it she was going to make sure this guy at least felt comfortable around her. Well... until someone pulled the wool from over his eyes anyway. She didn't have many friends. Maybe she'd have more if Akutan actually paid her any attention. Seriously this guy would have been in the line up if he had showed up before Akutan knocked her up. Hm... She had a things for princes it seemed. "It's nice to meet you again! Though I think I'll call you Tobes if you don't mind." She said throwing her head to the side to eye him with a mischievous teasing smile. She knew who Prince Alexander was, his colors honestly should have been a dead giveaway but she hadn't even been born when he disappeared after the exile. They had never met. Though her brilliant red fur was a near mirror of her mother Firebright who he might have known if he had hung around her father a lot. "I'm Kyra, what's the thank you for?" She asked, flicking her tail attractively to wrap around her legs as she sat.

"Well, that'd be my dad, Hakan. Master healer and all, thinks he knows everything." Alexander stood there, mouth slightly ajar as she spoke about her father, and as he looked at her he could start to see the resemblance now! The boy blinked quickly a few times; her face had begun to do something strange, or maybe it was his eyes. But she looked oddly familiar..Yet she wasn't exactly the same as his mind had begun to picture it. It morphed a little, almost as if someone took an onion layer and placed it over her image to show a ghost of someone he definitely knew, but couldn't remember. "Well, that'd be my dad, Hakan. Master healer and all, thinks he knows everything." Ahh, yes, he'd mentioned that to the boy as well, and Alexander gave a curt nod to her as she told him. He almost felt like giving a half hearted chuckle at that, his tongue instantly working to begin a sentence that involved joking about how he had said the same to the golden boy, but his train of thought and beginning of that sentence was cut off as his smile faded when she prompted her final piece. "It's nice to meet you again! Though I think I'll call you Tobes if you don't mind. [...] I'm Kyra, what's the thank you for?" For a moment, the boy felt his heart flutter in his chest. Perhaps it was simply her nickname for him; the reassuring anchor that he could be Tobie if he felt like it- that he was not instantly drawn in to the servitude of a royalty he did not know, or perhaps it was simply her smile and warming gaze. He wasn't entirely sure. The prince shifted on front limbs again as he looked at her with a seriousness that he did not know he'd possessed within himself. When he spoke this time, his voice was soft; a low gentle rumbling that came from deep within him. "You have shown me a kindness I never expected to find," he began, emerald green eyes staring in to her own mismatched gaze, "I did not expect to find a friend so early in my travels, but you have done me this kindness and it is something that I will carry with me for the rest of my days. The world is not used to such kindness Miss Kyra, and if I am who the rest of these wolves believe I am, then I will do my due diligence to make sure I repay you and every other member of this pack for this." He lifted his head, offering her a gentle, warm smile and another small wag of his tail. "I don't know what it is I am to find here, or if my dreams are memories lost to a boy who used to once be part of this great pack, but I wanted to thank you for believing in me. I know, I know we've only just met but," he paused, turning from her gaze to look out across the lands, "I am truly grateful to have run in to you first." Down an unknown road

Such panashe! Such flair! The way he met her eyes with those emerald greens! Such sincerity! If she were a bird she would have tucked her beak to the side and ruffled her feathers to blush! The way his voice rumbled low with confidence made her forget for a moment her previous annoyances. As if suddenly they were tiny butterflies for the time being fluttering about trying to nag her. She met his gaze half in awe, her mouth slightly open. Then he smiled! She could just melt at that smile, oh he seemed so easy to please. He smiled so readily too! Like a warm breeze in mid winter, promising so much more. Oh Kyra you're in a mess now. she would have thought if she had not blinked it away. She was nearly at a loss for words as he looked off into the landscape, providing her a perfect profile depiction of the prince he once was with a regal stance he probably hardly even knew he was posing. She had seen it on all the royals, and it suited him just fine. So fine she had to bite her lip and briefly look away to come back to herself and catch her breath. A fluttering in her stomach made her dive bomb back to earth and cloud her gaze with disappointment. Oh this wasn't going to end well. She didn't know how long she would have before he would grow to dislike her, or find out how much of a handful she was. Should she just push him back now and save them both the disappointment? Maybe she could enjoy this a while at least, he had said he had found a friend in her! Then maybe perhaps, they could at least try this friend thing for a while. "I...I..." HM! She could barely think, it was like the early days with a certain silver socked boy, "Well I... really appreciate that." She said crossing her paws and tightening the grip of her tail over her gently growing tummy. Her pregnancy was only just barely starting to show. She wondered how long it would be until someone other than her father finally noticed. "I'm really glad... I'm grateful to... to call you a friend too Tobes..." What the fuck was this boy doing to her head!? If he could see the blush that matched her ruby red fur, it wasn't often she was flustered. Ugh, She had to head to bed, more of the mission was tomorrow, her absentee mate was downed by a bear, her head was swimming with ebony embellished golden boys that maybe might actually pay attention to her that maybe might one day all end in ruin anyway. She finally took a breath and stood up with a grunt, her muscles ached and she was hungry, she shook her pelt to give her a base line of decorum again, she felt quite ruffled. "I uh... I need some rest. It was a big day, and I have to lead the mission tomorrow too. Thank you... or... your very welcome? I mean? Yeah. We should definitely go hunting together sometime." It was her version of saying they should hang out. She gave him a meaningful hopeful smile. She really wanted to continue their conversation if she wasn't so exhausted... and feeling complicated. She liked him. But more... actually Like liked him, not just totally smitten with him, she didn't see him as some kind of challenge, he just seemed so... sweet. She really liked him.

"I...I...I'm really glad... I'm grateful to... to call you a friend too Tobes..." He watched her carefully as she stammered through her sentence. His smile never left his face as his tail gave a gentle wag. Again the boy could feel something skip in his chest, but it was nothing more than relief from having come out and said his piece (or at least, that was what he was going to assume it to be). He gave a soft chuckle, gaze softening a little more as she spoke again. "I uh... I need some rest. It was a big day, and I have to lead the mission tomorrow too. Thank you... or... your very welcome? I mean? Yeah. We should definitely go hunting together sometime." It was as if a bomb went off in his brain. The golden boy took a step back, instant recognition on his face as the sudden realization came to him that he had been stalling her of time. His emotions swelled from the soft happiness to a look of shock, understanding, and instant guilt. Oh no, he'd kept her from resting! Alexander's head dropped almost immediately as she said this; apologies spilling from his mouth as soon as it opened. "Ahh! I am, I am terribly sorry for having kept you Miss Kyra," he said quickly as his head lowered in a bow towards her. As it swung up, the utter look of horror at what he had done was set in to his face; ears dropping a bit as he looked to her sheepishly. The comment on hunting had almost passed him by even as she said it, but he had somehow managed to catch hold of the trail end of her sentence. The prince looked back to her with a soft smile once more though it was half plagued by guilt at his own incompetence for keeping her for so long. "Y-yes, I would very much like that," he began; his heart thumping loudly in his chest. Could she hear it? The earth was shaking from the thumping of his own heart as it crawled up in to his throat. The prince gave another short bow as he took a step back, gaze holding hers again as he offered another sympathetic bow. "Perhaps, perhaps when you are done with your mission we can go on that hunt." Alexander looked from her to the ground and then back to her. He felt bad having kept her so long in an idle conversation, but the thought of them being able to hang out again, and perhaps for longer, gave the boy some hope and something to look forward to. He lifted his head a little higher this time when he looked at her, offered a third curt bow of his head and smile. "I hope you rest easy. If you ever need anything from me, Miss Kyra, please don't hesitate to find me. I would be honored to help however I can. And again, thank you..For everything you've done for me." With that, the boy gave her one final smile before plodding off to a destination unknown. -------------- ooc: final post for alexander on this thread Down an unknown road
