Alteron

The trip wasn't excruciating, but it was tedious. Schorl was more than ready to shed her travois and explore this new land. Who knows? Maybe there were signs of the cryptids around here. Or at the very least something pretty to take home.
The hellion didn't wish to travel too far into Inaria's forest until she had met an Inarian firsthand. Sure they knew Alteron was coming, but Schorl had enough manners not to just waltz in. This was her first opportunity to shine as a Jack. Put on the charms, speak well of her homeland. Easy enough, right? She held a soft expression as she dragged the meaty offerings through the forest. A biting fly kept buzzing around her misshapen ears. Teeth snapped at the foul things, but she longed for a good scratch for relief. Where were these friggin Inarians? Finally. One was spotted. Or at least he could have been. But alas it was just a pup. Yellow eyes peered from a distance. Oh. A puppy. Not exactly what she was looking for, but it was a start. "Hello there little one!" Schorl moved into a trot to catch up with the puppy. Her voice was sweet, if not a little condescending. The hellion had no experience whatsoever with puppies, but surely she could figure it out, "I'm Schorl, we're visiting from Alteron. Are you from Inaria? Do you know where I could find a grown up so I can share this yummy food?" |

Aesop

Nothing gold can stay.

Aesop slowed his stride (short as it is to begin with), oversized tail swishing as baby blues peered over his shoulder. "Yes, miss?" he greeted politely, despite how the hellion spoke down to him. He was, in fact, very small. "I'm Schorl, we're visiting from Alteron. Are you from Inaria?" The fox turned to face her fully, a light smile meeting her questions. "I am indeed, miss. It's a pleasure to meet you." He even meant it. The next sentence revealed her folly, asking for an adult, and Aesop grinned. "Oh, of course. In fact, there's someone not far at all..." Unable to help himself, the fox darts behind the trunk of a jacaranda, emerging from the other side with his head held high. "Hello, Schorl. I am Aesop, a Healer here. How may I help you?" |

The small furball turned around with a welcoming smile. Schorl stopped when she saw the creature from the front. Wait that wasn't a...oh dear. The fox made a theatrical re-entrance and it quickly corrected her mistake. Alright, Schorl old girl, now what? How were we to play this scene? Tripping over herself with apologies didn't seem appropriate here. Aesop seemed chipper and easy going enough to not warrant such theatrics. Her entire flood of amusement didn't seem right for her first real day on the job either. So. Somewhere in between. The hellion let out a little laugh.
"Oh, Aesop, I'm terribly sorry!" She started with an embarrassed grin. Yes, so terribly sorry someone else wasn't around to see that because that was friggin hilarious, "Alteron also has a few foxes about, but I haven't met them face to face. I knew this was a puppy party, my thoughts went right to puppies!" She dragged her load a little closer. "Well I'm not in need of any healing, but I've got some food as a peace offering here that I wouldn't mind getting off my back. Do you know a good place to drop this off so everyone can grab a bite?" |
