MUIRENN

Muirenn was a jack of many trades. Certainly not all of them, but a great many that came in handy. Being born in a merchant camp, the indian wolf had learned at a young age how to haggle, pick pocket, barter, and curse. Of course, that was only the basics. When she was a teenager, she had learned the arts. Although she had certainly enjoyed the process of dipping her paws in berry juices and pressing them onto sheets of bark had been satisfying, she had moreso focused on much more 'practical' arts. Fighting. How to survive. How to stay safe when you do get yourself in too deep. Finally, when she had become a young adult, she had learned her worth. She knew how she should and shouldn't be treated and she wouldn't accept anything more or less. Flattery was more dangerous than one could expect, in fact she would know. She had made her her weapon.
Now, as she stood on the beach, with a bag of wares and a brain full of knowledge, she let herself relax. An easy grin slipped across her maw. She had to seem friendly. If she got too defensive or nervous, they would see a weakness and she wouldn't have the upper hand anymore. She needed to have the upper hand, no matter what it took. The second you let someone see your weaknesses you were done for, no matter how much you trusted that person. She had learned that lesson in the merchant camp as well. It was the most important lesson, she kept it close to her chest, close to her heart.
She knew she wouldn't have to wait long. Opening her jaws, she let the bag drop. It had been hard getting here, so she had better make some good trades. She wouldn't mind staying a while either. This palce was gorgeous and if anybody could use a beach vacation getaway, it was Muirenn. Although, more importantly, an island was hard to get to. Muirenn had experienced that firsthand. If she found it tough to get there, so would those she wanted to keep away. Disappearing without a trace was her specialty. She had done it many times before, and would do it again. Today seemed like a well enough day.

She had been rather pleasantly surprised by how few guards there seemed to be around here, after all guards meant watchful eyes. Sure, others were watchful, but guards guarunteed a consequence should she be caught. The lack of them definitely made her feel more confident and relaxed, and it showed in her stance. As long as she made sure she was in control, and didn't let anybody have the home advantage, she'd be perfectly fine.
Muirenn was mildly startled by the closeness, but she wiped it away. "Oh, hello there. I'd certainly like to think so!" she barked with a rather haughty wink. "I have heard rumors circulating about this place, Tortuga, correct?t" Indeed there had been rumors. Promises of a good home to anyone who could show themselves worthy and a pack full of creatures with thieving hearts and merchant's eyes. A place that could not be trusted, but a place she would be comfortable in nonetheless. "My name is Muirenn, and I am here to offer my goods... and my services to your pack, if you'd allow of course." Enslavement really wasn't on her list of things to do, but if it happened, it happened. It was a risk she was willing to take for greed, however. Greed was her goddess and she worshiped her well. The slender wolf offered a coy smile. Nudging her bag to reveal the assortment of pelts, bones, jewelry, and dried flowers from her travels, she took a step back. "I'm looking for a place to pledge my loyalty as well, would that be a possibility? Of course I'd be willing to show you my skills if need be." she finished her small introduction. Should it be good enough, she may find herself in a new home, if not, then her travels would continue and she would hopefully be able to go on and see more of the world. If they decided to take her by force, that would be another experience, but an experience nonetheless. |
