ooc: anyone from Gemini that is looking to pursue an Acolyte position is more than welcome to join and assist Harriette!
Now that Harriette had a slightly hidden place to go to work, she did just that. She had a pile going already – various roots, herbs, flowers, leaves. Things she’d seen before, things she’d only heard of before. She would have to do a certain amount of experimenting here. She’d never been here, she’d never seen some of these plants before, but she knew they could help. She tested some of them as she found them, going off of the small amount of knowledge she’d acquired in her time as an Acolyte in Gemini. Some plants looked similar to ones at home, and so she tested them to see if they held the same powers. Using a paw, she crushed a few different roots and leaves, smelling them first, then applying them to a paw pad. She waited. Then, using a small rock on the ground, she pressed her paw against it. Nothing. She couldn’t feel anything. Nodding to herself, she set those aside. Numbing. Pain relief. She gathered some moss from the ground behind her, piling it together for use on open wounds, to help stop bleeding. Some of these things, she knew she had to be careful with. A familiar root reminded her that there were ways to sedate those in pain. Simply crushing certain leaves and roots and inhaling their smell could put a person in a trance, or they could be eaten for a stronger effect. She separated those, put them in a different pile. She felt good. Her heart raced, and her eyes flashed this way and that – but she felt good. She was in her natural habitat, and she was here to help. She hoped she’d make a difference. Make Akira proud. Save her friends and family when they needed saving. She wanted to do everything she could. In another pile, she put a few of each thing together. If someone needed her assistance on the battlefield, she could simply grab the small pile and run to them. She needed to be prepared. She needed to be ready for everything and anything. The sounds that echoed in the air from hers and theirs made her stomach twist, but she had to keep her focus. This was nothing like she’d ever experienced before, but she needed to remain alert. It would be easy for someone to invade her little infirmary, but she was going to keep a positive mind. |
