"Fates! Civilians! People of Elysium! Anyone!" the booming voice of the Theros carries throughout the expanse, knowing those who embodied the pack were all within howling distance, as they learned to be while surviving in a nomadic state. "It is time we find a home, it's time to settle down in a territory of our very own. We've wated too many months- years, actually- wandering this world, it is now time to stake our claim!" Zephyrus stands atop a massive rock, his stance far from feeble or old, despite the many years weighing him down. He lays back his head and lets out yet another howl, it carries across the distance as he waits for a curious crowd to arrive. Patience, a virtue he despised in his youth, came to be a blessing in his later years. He'd had nothing but time then, and not enough now, yet he no longer tasted the same anxiety of 'now now now' that he had then. Even knowing his time was ticking away as they spoke, the only time he'd felt anxious was when his last reign came to an end, and Andruil took up the mantle for her season to lead. It was only after being reassured she would bless the world with his heirs that his nerves truly quieted. So now, he waits, acknowledging any and all of Elysium's people- and strangers, of course- with a gruff nod. Zephyrus never failed to smile, he is in the mood to celebrate the expansion of his lineage, and thus, in the mood to shower all of those who served him well. "I'll take volunteers to accompany me on finding good, solid ground. I'd prefer to keep it to my fates, but this is monumental to our pack, our people, and for that.. I will not limit it to my Summer children," any and all would gain favor with the deities, truthfully, for their willingness to find roots to snag onto. "And for those of you who are unfamiliar with who I am, or who we are, you've stumbled on a grand family we all like to call Elysium," he hums and throws his head back, howling out his excitement for new life, for new beginnings, "and we are currently celebrating the Season of Change." For those who want wolves grandfathered into Elysium, just post here and be sure to notate which rank they are, so we can sort them into the ranks! They would know who Zephyrus is, as the current ruler of Summer, Theros. He will be replaced with Jezebel in due time, but until then, he is a pompous, EXTRA BOI, and no one is the wiser on him being overthrown. For those of you who are wanting to join Elysium before they discover the caverns, here is your opening! Welcome to the Family! As a side note, this is just a 'check-in' of sorts, to see who we have escorting Zephyrus in a follow up thread, an introduction for your Grandfathered character, or a streamlined 'acceptance'! I will have an Auto-accepted design thread up shortly! |

She had always been in the winter of her life, no matter what, Alteron was proof that even greenery could be just as dead as winter's icy chill. Things that should have stayed in the past had a strange way of resurfacing into something more twisted and grotesque. The memory of that forest was resilient, and each time it returned it was worse than the last. The once royal would never be free of it. Her children ripped from her by choice, by a crazed husband, and by life. It was funny how she thought she could do right by them, give them the love she never received from either of her parents; to be a mother that was much better than her own. However, that was not the case. Leaving a small little whelp to fend for himself, turning her back on him as he sat in dead grass. She told him to be quiet and he listened, but as she drew further away she heard the questioning cries. Mama! MAMA?! MAAAAAAMAAAAAAA?! MOMMY?!!! His face kept her from loving him, kept her from holding him close to her like a good mother should. You can fake it for a while, bite your tongue and smile, like every mother does her ugly child. Eyes fluttered open to the sound of a howl, bi-colored eyes narrowed as the wretch crept through the shadows. Living her life in endless solitude was what she originally intended, there was no crown that ever fit properly upon her head, unless it was one made of thorns. Though she was regal, though her line was one of royalty and rule, she was not a queen. Ana knew this now. Not a queen, not a mother. The female appeared from the brush, cautiously, even in her long years of absence; lost in the frozen tundra up north, she still feared there might be some who'd easily spot her. A page taken from her father, it was best not to draw attention to one's self in unknown surroundings. But here came the large form and the booming voice of a slightly elderly male, and she stared up at him with blank indifference as if to look right on through him. He was pleased with himself, his loud words spoken in sing-song tone, he spoke of his pack. An Elysium. Something about him reminded her of Chantecler, the way in which he spoke with all the fire and boisterousness, and energy. All he was missing was the southern drawl, her lip twitched as if to manage a smile. It seems like you've forgotten. Cortana's sleek form sat before him, her tail curling around her legs and body posture elegant of a lady from court. Her mind as curious as a cat's though her heart warned her otherwise. Stay among your trees and in the shadows, don't give them another chance to break you, it cried, but she shut the door. "Hello, I am.... Cortana." She addressed him softly. "I wish to go with you." There was a hope in finding happiness, she'd find herself jumping and snapping like a hungry fish at the opportunity. In time, the winter would thaw. |

Noise.
Sudden. Abrupt. How long had it been since she’d last heard the sound of others, of voices, wolves or otherwise? When had the endless sea of chilling white twisted into sand and heat? When had that changed to towering trees and rich vegetation, unburned by umbrella canopy and oppressive heat? When… When had she opened her eyes to tall fields of green and the brilliance of the sun? When indeed… There’s a twitch from the wolf, a grunt, a heaving sigh, before her body is moving, turning over from her back to pull legs beneath her in preparation for a rise. She can hear them, him, on the horizon. Bellowing. Calling for people. For the fickle nature of Fate. And wouldn’t that just be brilliant, if Our Lady Fate fell from the heavens to bless this paltry gathering? To lead them to glory? To independence and sustainability? Very, she suspected. Very. Her mind is a whirl, a shifting kaleidoscope of whispered memories, of writhing images, of bodies among the grass and yells that echo throughout the night. It’s quick, a sudden vision, a taste of what could be. But wasn’t. After all, the male upon the rock nearby is not some grand lord of old blood and stone thrones, not the sort she’d recognize, so there’s no need for such… Fleeting paranoia. Flickering yearning. No need at all. She comes to her feet in a stretch and briefly she’d enjoy the sensation of wind upon her pelt and the scent of something fresh tickling her nose. She can’t quite place it. Is that the scent of aspiration? Of feeling alive as her body hums and her muscles flex? Or is that the odd ring of adventure rattling about her skull? Only one way to find out for certain. So, she came, with bulky pack about her neck of black leather and the gleam of interest set to swim among the oddity of her eyes. That, and her ever present smile. She’s ready, good sir. So ready. For a new parchment to scribble on. “A family so grand, is it?” Her tone is a near-whisper, her words almost gentle. She remembers a family. A grand one. But before she can say anymore her gaze is drawn to another, to the female of blacks and browns. “You remind me of someone,” Her tone is curious, but her gaze is a little… intense, thick with remembrance, “Someone special.” But who could really know… |

He was coming down from a rather splendid night of excitement that ended with him being utterly alone yet again. It always seemed to turn out this way but this time he wasn't sure he'd find the company he had before. So when the howl came and the would be leader called, Oros decided he'd answer. He took up his last little leaf satchel of poppies and seeds and other interesting things before taking off.
It didn't take long, finding the nomadic group, they weren't too far from his napping place thankfully. He came, head low and looking for familiar faces he might want to avoid but found none among the group here. He relaxed a bit more and took in the faces of the strangers being welcomed to join before settling his eyes on the speaker before them all. His tail wagged slowly, eyes curious and interested in the ideas floating about. "I'll come too," He spoke loud enough to be heard but not louder than the center of all their attentions. "I'll gladly help if you'll take me." It was as simple as that really, or at least hopefully it would be. The seasons were going to change soon and he really didn't want to be caught out in the cold scrounging for dens and hunting for silly rodents that hadn't made it back to their holes yet. If the fates were kind, he'd find a place to set up his garden again with this Elysium, a place to grow his own roots while planting those for the pack. |

Dryad ▼ Hears some sort of commotion while wandering, stalks over. ▼ Listens quietly while hiding. She doesn't understand. The word family hits her ears. A word she knows. It hurts. ▼ She steps forward, finally, into the small gathering. She doesn't say anything, and her small pup form kind of curls in on itself to appear smaller. Maybe she can just follow, without being singled out. Naomi ▼ Naomi overhears, and listens in. She watches this stranger as he makes his point. ▼ Family. Tch. She rolls her eyes to herself, what a load of dribble. ▼ Change, huh? That sparks something. ▼ She remains silent while she mulls it over, finally wondering, what else am I doing with my life right now? If it doesn't work out, just sneak out like you did with your last 'family', yeah? ▼ "Naomi." she grunts out, "I'll give it a go." Change was such an easy thing to experience, but whether it was good or bad was something you couldn't promise. |

OOC: Crap post, I've been busy packing for my trip to Seattle for Thanksgiving! :>
Shadrach looked at Zephyrs, and Theros with a facial of contentment, and excitement. He was ready to claim new lands; and help run Elysium as a Phane and possibly a Gaia within the flying future."Greetings." He implied a hello of friendliness to his alpha's-- which he admired greatly. Ear swiveling at the sound of suggestions, (commands to him), Shadrach got to work to help and try find the caves. His nose twitched, low to the ground. He slowly began to wander away, but caught what Zephyrs had mentioned; Season of Change. Shadrach preferred to look not he positive side; and It is indeed a time for celebration. |
