Dusk.

The final moments of daylight paint a beautiful scene ahead of him: the setting sun casting several beautiful shades of red and orange amidst the blue-black sky and left an almost spectral glow about the steel and dusty teal feline. The massive paws of the creature pressed violently against the cool, muddy, earth beneath his scarred muscular body; weaving through the last bit of forest vegetation with great ease and escaping into the low lands. Vivid orange eyes soon glimpsed off towards the distance taking in the beautiful scenery and his charcoal lip curled up in appreciation; however, it was then he caught sight of a structure in the distance far more curious. Tornado's pace soon slowed down to a soft stride and came to a halt not far from it caught on quickly to the distinct notion: there were many of others living here.

Adlib?

The name of his other half and co-escapee from Saboro was the first to come in mind. The tiger and the wolf planned upon many different options of escaping and searching for a new place to call home leaving behind Saboro and it's inhabitants. Those that have lived there were stagnant, corrupt and it was wearing down on Adlib far more then anyone. Yet, freedom came fast in lieu of chaos from a stampede that tore across the lands and allowed them their chance to escape. Yet, the plan had gone astray when they got separated.

He had to be here, he had to be safe.

After all, they had promised to meet here on the other side and away from what they had left behind, so perhaps he stay? Perhaps he wait and do exactly what was instructed of him should they get separated.  He clenched his teeth for a moment before releasing a deep sigh shaking the thought off. A loud roar soon thundered across the sky announcing his arrival; however, he was not about to trespass upon their lands. He knew not of who lived here and he knew for certain he wasn't about to be driven out: not now. The male soon sat down upon his haunches, tail tucking up close to his body and he waited.

Livid had seen a lot of creatures during her lifetime

The North had been home to bears, snow leopards and a variety of predators that Liv and her home pack were forced to compete with and sometimes kill to survive. She knew that the Straits were home to stranger creatures, like hellions. Not that she held any prejudice. Any creature had the right to survive if they could earn it. Even those she would call an enemy of wolves. Bears, snow leopards. In fact, her birth pack had held a custom regarding such beings. In the event that they killed one - mostly in self defence, some out of pure desperation - they would honour their fallen foe by making use of its flesh and fur. The latter was particularly useful in protecting pups from the Arctic night. Livid, however, gagged as memories of her first taste of bear came back to her. Oh, she had eaten it, for it was all that had stood between her and death. But it was terrible.

Survival: there was no room for picky eaters where it was concerned.

Her memories were thankfully disturbed by a roar that echoed throughout the packlands. From the border. Huh.

Wolves could not roar. Bears could bellow, and some felines that she was aware of could certainly roar. Only one way to find out. Upon reaching the border and sighting the stranger, she paused and bristled in warning. She struggled to recognise what species this being belonged to. He resembled a snow leopard, only much bigger and with stripes instead of spots. His fur - like her own - was an impressive shade of blue tinged with grey. Her own eyes locked on the fiery orange pair, which contrasted heavily with her icy orbs. Anticipation flowed through her as she got close to the stranger, sniffing with open curiosity. She was not frightened, she knew what she had signed up for when she had become a Ranger but she was certainly bewildered. Eventually, she stepped back. The fact that the newcomer was sitting confirmed he had no ill intentions.

"Got a nice vocal range, haven't we?" Livid asked conversationally, eyebrow raised. "You're on the border of Gemini. State your name and business."

A tiger. That's what he was, Livid's memory reminded her. A few of these impressive animals had inhabited her former pack's territory. The wolves had always avoided them and the tigers did likewise, like there was an unsaid understanding between the two creatures. Some of the younger members of her pack would be foolish enough to try and challenge one over its kill every now and again. She actually remembered her brother getting a sound lecture from her parents for attempting such a stunt. Livid, on the other hand, was far more cautious and respectable of another predator's catch. They were no scavengers, after all.

She wants the silence but fears the solitude
She wants to be alone and together with you
So she ran to the lighthouse, hoped that it would help her see
She saw that the lighthouse had been washed out to sea

Patience was only one of many traits the feline had grown accustomed too from his time in Saboro and it certainly showed.

Unwillingly, the weary traveler waited to be greeted at the borderline by a sentry, that poor bastard, to allow him entry inside the pack territory. Tornado knew for a fact that he was large enough to waltz right on into the pack territory without much of a second thought at being bothered by many; however, he knew for a fact Adlib would have his head if he found out. His charcoal lips soon curled in distaste at the very idea of following the rules in place by the canines and before long he let out an annoyed huff. His tail flicked in irritation before soon, movement caught his attention.

Finally.

Molten ember eyes gazed locked with ice blue for a brief moment as the she-wolf made her approach from inside of the borders; however, he could not fight back the smug expression that soon passed over his features when she bristled in warning. Threatening me, sweetie? Come now.  He thought before chuckling to himself slightly followed by shaking his head. A few moments passed before the she-wolf approached with curiosity and he waited. Rather then moving from his spot he waited until she was done sniffing him out.

"Got a nice vocal range, haven't we? You're on the border of Gemini. State your name and business here."

Tornado clicked his tongue for a brief moment, "Well, I'm certainly not here to talk about my singing voice if that is what you're about to ask. Yet, I do appreciate the compliment if I ever change my career." He said after a few moments before then ducking his head in an over-dramatic bow, "Tornado is the name. He paused and lifted his head back up to look at her, "Gemini, hm? Well, I am here to seek sanctuary. You see, my companion and I got separated leaving Saboro and I am looking for him. He's... a wolf too. I promised that we'd find each other beyond Saboro. I am not here to do you or your pack any harm." He finally said earnestly, "If you need me to prove my worth I can hunt and I can fight. I am more then willing to serve as needed in exchange for staying." He said.

What say you, wolf?

The amusement of the tiger at her initial distrust was not lost on Livid. Her impatience only mounted when he chuckled and shook his head. True, one wolf alone did not stand much of a chance against a tiger but look around, you soft sock. All she had to do was howl and at least twenty or so wolves would be on him in seconds. Nevertheless, laughing at her was not against the rules so she only shrugged lazily and decided to get on with her inspection. Although a tiger would be considered a powerful and useful ally to Gemini, he was not getting in until she had established why had opted to join wolves as opposed to his own kind.

"Well, I'm certainly not here to talk about my singing voice if that is what you're about to ask. Yet, I do appreciate the compliment if I ever change my career."

"Oh, you're quite welcome," the Ranger replied, with a smile. "At least you have something to fall back on if this acceptance doesn't go down well."

Livid struggled to really decide how to proceed in the event that it did not. In a way, this was quite a demanding test for the Ranger. If the tiger turned out to be an enemy, she would be forced to keep it at bay until help arrived. By then, the tiger could easily rip her throat out. Nevertheless, she had vowed to herself to approach this with an open mind. This would be no different from an acceptance with a wolf.

"Tornado is the name. Gemini, hm? Well, I am here to seek sanctuary. You see, my companion and I got separated leaving Saboro and I am looking for him. He's... a wolf too. I promised that we'd find each other beyond Saboro. I am not here to do you or your pack any harm."

The Ranger's ears twitched at the name 'Saboro'. The pack that Francisca had warned the Rangers and some of the Vanguard about. Livid raised an eyebrow with interest, the tiger's revelation about his origins making her wonder just what else Saboro had staying in its packlands. Glad that she was able to keep her surprise under a suitable cover of boredom and curtness, Livid scratched her ear, opting to play dumb. She was not about to give anything away to somebody who was not yet a recruit, whether they hailed from Saboro or not.

"If you need me to prove my worth I can hunt and I can fight. I am more then willing to serve as needed in exchange for staying."

"Oh, I don't doubt a fully grown tiger can hunt and fight," Liv replied, musing as she thought over what was genuinely a curious question. "But do they have morals? Loyalty? What are those two things to you, Tornado? Humour me."

He could fight and hunt, but could he talk? Could he sell himself?
