He was laying down, not so much resting, though it was useful for that at least in the physical sense, and thinking, or rather observing and contemplating the varying heights of the blades of grass that remained regardless of the season. When it snowed they would all be buried of course, except on occasion when they were unburied by whatever circumstance happened to occur to do so but for now they were still visible with all their variations, of height and color and scent. Each blade was unique, was different from all the others, and yet was still so similar to the rest of the living carpet as to all be called, or at least able to be called, grass. It was very much like his packmates, and perhaps, he supposed, like their allies..and enemies as well, there so many similarities yet..so many differences as well. It had been so long now since the war with Saboro but still he thought about it, pondered over what had caused it, and more importantly what could be done to prevent another such thing from occurring. If he could have gone back in time he would also have been thinking of how to stop and prevent the first one but alas going back in time was just not possible, it was not an option, so while he did muse on what could have been to stop the violent clash of the two packs he put more focus, or at least tried very hard much, to put more focus on the future and on moving forwards.
His musings were interrupted however by a call from the border at which point he quickly rose and headed that way to investigate as the borders were his responsibility, or part of them anyway, but as he'd been on the other side of the territory working on the other part of his responsibilities, diplomacy, he arrived well rather late with nothing but the scents of well recognized, if not known ally, still lingering in the area. That would not do, for one who was supposed to greet others at the border arriving late like this and leaving it at that simply would not do. While the summoning party had of course been met and thus had not been slighted by Inaria he still felt as though his tardiness should be made up for so he picked out a scent of one of their guests and began following it as it wafted and drifted and floated about hoping he would be able to locate its owner and rectify his error. The endeavor, though not a long one in actuality, seemed far too long to him still but there was nothing he could except to make the best impression he could but boy was this awkward. "I..ahem..". He began before realizing he'd come from behind and might well have startled the very one he was trying to make a good impression on which..would hardly be a good impression. He waited a moment to allow any jarred nerves of the guest to settle before continuing. "I am Aeolus, one of Inaria's greeters and welcomers and so I would like to welcome you, though you have undoubtedly been welcomed already, to Inaria". He would introduce himself, so glad that he had managed to remember to give his name, he usually forgot that part. "I am sorry I was not there to meet your group when you first arrived, I was busy elsewhere, I would still like to make amends though so if you would do me the honor of allowing me to show you some of Inaria's more notable features I will gladly do so". He then offered with a warm smile hoping to make her feel as welcome as possible. |

They had been welcomed into Inaria and Iaera had taken the opportunity to move around a bit away from the group and study the trees and flowers. They were different here than in Gemini, and not just the purple trees, all sorts of various fauna growing in the new climate seemed strange to her. Violet eyes followed the trickle of streams and watched leaves sailing down from the trees as she continued to walk. Trying not to distance herself too far away from the party, just in case she needed to return promptly. She was a stranger in a foreign land, though pretty much anywhere she went she felt that way, sometimes even still in Gemini. However, this place was not Gemini, and as welcomed as they had been, her guard was up much higher than it normally was. Almost at the same level as she had been in the neutrals, after all this was not home and it would be reckless to prop her feet up and doze off like an old cowboy.
The small woman studied the shapes of the leaves and gathered them around her as they fell. The silence was nice, it was a relief after the stressful journey and it opened up her ability to hear incoming creatures drastically. So she wasn't unaware when Aeolus arrived behind her, hackles raised, dipping her head into her hood. Though her black cloak was swept slightl to the side, enough so that when someone approached from behind they could see her lower back, legs and tail. Small head would turn in his direction as he cleared his throat to gather her attention. Eyes were calm, but her body language was slightly tense, after all, she was still a stranger in a foreign land. There was no jarred nerves however, she simply stared at him with a blank expression until he spoke again, shifting her figure to face him. The cloak would cover her back then, drawing her small tail around to wrap around her paws, front legs hidden partially by the bracers made by Shroxx. If Aeolus had never seen such apparel he might do a double take, but as he introduced himself Iaera assumed he must have. Border greeter, he must have seen things. Hopefully. The man quickly apologized for having been absent at the border greeting and wanted to make amends. Iaera smiled then softly,"A pleasure to meet you Aeolus, I am Iaera, a Ranger and Whisper for Gemini," still laying her Latin accent on a little thick for now. Iaera wasn't sure if it was intentional or if she was just nervous and didn't realize it."I was just admiring the different sorts of plants you have here in Inaria, I'd greatly appreciate a tour."Her expression was calm as she stood to face the much larger wolf. Legs a little stiff as she started to move towards him, as much as the little wolfdog tried, she was still somewhat uncomfortable around creatures much larger than herself. Especially when she was not in Gemini, or on top of the wall, or in her den, where she felt safe. "What sort of things are there to see in Inaria? This is my first visit." |

She did not seem startled by his appearance and it made him wonder if her view was not as obscured by what she had draped over her as he had thought. It was a curious thing but he had seen similar things before so despite not being entirely sure what to call it at present, things of the kind always seemed to have different names anyhow depending on the user, it was not a prime concern though he did still make note of it just in case. When she turned to face him however he noticed something he could not recall having ever seen before covering her front legs. Those would be something to find out about if possible but as they weren't being thrown at him but were being worn as well he figured it was safe enough to wait until later. She introduced herself Iaera, and as a Ranger and Whisper, rank or title he assumed and in a relatively thick accent explained that she'd been admiring the plants as it was her first time in Inaria and stated that would appreciate a tour. Well if she liked plants he knew just where the first stop should be but he could point out something special on the way. "A pleasure to meet you Iaera, welcome to Inaria". He smiled while bowing in a gentlemanly type manner. "There are many things to see within Inaria that allows for most if not all within the borders to find something which they enjoy, if you will follow me I will show you a place I think you might like". He said turning slightly and waiting, once she was ready he would begin walking heading in the direction of Inaria's garden where there were many beautiful plants to see carefully cultivated by the healers.
On the way he would also point out the trees, Inaria's special trees that were instantly recognizable of course but still worthy of mention. He slowed his already easy pace down a bit further and then began. "These are the Jacanda trees of Inaria that we are known for. They bloom purple as you can see and are quite lovely and there are some of us, such as myself, who like to think they give others hope that a better life is possible, that there are safe places in the world in which to live". He would end the commentary there not wishing to sour the mood with an explanation of his less than pleasant past which was part of the reason he hoped that particular thing and he didn't offer to answer questions, even though he knew he probably should, as he hadn't been a member of the pack when these trees had first started to grow and finding information from that long ago was rather difficult with the only one he knew of that would know about stuff like that being Blaise but after the sad news he had delivered he had been trying to give him the space the elder had requested though he did still intend to keep his promise to go back eventually to learn about more of Inaria's history. If she did ask any questions he would do his best to answer them but if not he would wait for her to be ready to continue and then he would lead her to the garden and once there he would introduce it. "This is the garden, maintained by Inaria's healers to help the plants survive the winters that can get rather cold here". He stated trying to allow her to absorb the sight rather than trying to listen to him talk as it was quite a sight to be sure. There was a rather extensive variety of flowers here even though the healers main priority, he assumed, was the herb garden that while not quite as colorful as this was still impressive how the healers managed to tend to both the herb garden and the flower garden he wasn't sure but then he supposed if they didn't have patients it was possibly easier to manage and keep up with both. Again he would wait for Iaera to see if she wished to move on of if she perhaps would prefer to stay to continue to admire the garden and if she asked questions he would do his best to answer them. |
