OOC: This thread takes place after Mercury and Alexander have met and discussed matters about their family (a thread still in progress)

--------------------------------------------
The moon was full tonight. It sat large in the sky overlooking the lands of Nardir, bathing the forests and fields in all of its glorious pale light. It was nights like this that had Alexander up and jumping at the bit for a walk. Walks had become something of a habit since his acceptance within the pack border, and he quite enjoyed taking a moment away from the day and the gawking pack members that whispered a name he still didn't believe to be his. To him, he was still Tobie and yet the lingering words of prince and moon child ate at him as if they were parasites.

He wasn't sure if he was ready to accept and believe them yet, though there had been some clear and stark examples that proved them right and him wrong. On a tour of Nardir with his 'sister' Mercury, she had taken him to the grave of her parents and let him take it in.

'It was an illness,' he had said to her without prompt, 'they sacrificed themselves to save the pack. To let....you...us...to live on.'
That had been several days ago and the experience still sat funny with him. He wasn't exactly sure how he knew this- how his brain could understand a grave marker to be that of long dead parents and somehow know they had passed. In some flash of memory that day he could vaguely remember someone similar to him giving a speech to a gathering of wolves. Perhaps that had been Nardir all along?

Alexander shook the thoughts of that day from his head, offering a low growl at the sudden frustration set in front of him. He was stuck knowing and not knowing, unable to remember the fine details of his life and yet subsequently remembering things that would have been only common knowledge to those present.  He sighed loudly as he walked along the border- this wasn't how his walks were supposed to go. They were supposed to relieve the stress of the day; to bring him back and center him for tomorrow when it would all begin again.

The golden prince stopped at the edge of the forest and looked up to the full moon. What was he doing?

Down an unknown road
to embrace my fate
Though that road may wander,
it will lead me to you
