Naridr was proving to be something of a wonder at every turn.

There wasn't much Alexander found that he couldn't do without finding another surprise waiting just beyond his line of sight.

They had called him 'The Lost Prince of Nardir', but surely he wasn't the only one? The old brown wolf, Hakan, had made mention in passing of there being more than just he and the alpha Mercury. There was another. What was her name again? It bothered him to no end that these important pieces seemed to be just absent from his mind.

Today, however, as the sun rose high in to the sky and the pack began milling about with tasks to do and things to keep busy, Alexander found himself somewhat at a loss. There was nothing pressing for him to search for (he still needed to find certain members of the pack that Hakan had suggested to him, but that was something that could wait for now) and the boy still found himself terribly intimidated by his Alpha and possibly sister (?) that he'd found that particular conversation needing to be had coming to a very abrupt stop and about face.

It was silly, he knew it was silly, but there were things that lingered in his heart and mind that he still could not get over or figure out. It was frustrating as well, that there were so many who seemed to know of him, or know him, and yet still no one had the answers.

The prince gave a huff as he wandered through the main section of Nardir where the living quarters of the pack were, his mind buzzing and wandering off as he made his way to a small field full of flowers. There wasn't much here for him, but the sight of the plants swaying in the late morning breeze gave Alex a sense of comfort and security. The boy gave a sigh as he plodded in to the center of the field and lay down, nose sniffing each one that was around him. If he wasn't going to muster up the courage to seek out members now, then at least he'd occupy his time admiring the flora that littered the lands of Nardir. It wasn't much, but it was something- and it was a damn good excuse for him to learn the plants and their possible medicinal attributes.

Kastra had been still trying to copy what Kestrel had done, and then some. He had moved more in towards trying to make things that carried other things. Baskets, mainly, but also trying with leather. It was certainly a learning process. He had managed to make some kind of needle, sharp thing out of stone and had pricked his paws a few times, and how he was tired of it. He dropped the needle in frustration, dropping the leather along with it. The sun had been newly raised when he had started, and now it was fully in the sky, and a good amount of time had passed. At this rate, he should take a break. The prince had been sitting in the castle, claiming a small area to use for crafting for the day. He packed up his things and dropped them off into his den. Later on he could pick it back up later that day.

The boy left the shadows of the castle, walking into the field close by. Compared to stone the grass was soft on his sore paws, and a sigh of relief escaped his mouth. It was the simple things in life that sometimes really mattered. The sun was warming his back as he walked, and he started to let his eyes droop more than usual, as if he were walking somewhere to take a nap. The flowers smelled nice and were almost like they were using magic to make him tired. It totally wasn’t the fact that he had been working a lot the past few days and not sleeping as much as he wanted. For some reason since the move he had tried a lot harder to be up and active, be a better adult and a better pack member than before (maybe he felt like he had to make up for the fact that his immediate family was gone and he was all that was left).

The prince walked through the field, almost not noticing a golden man in the field. Even though he had never met the man there was something about him. Why was he weirdly drawn to him, as if there was something familiar about him. The young prince walked up awkwardly to him, licking his lips as if wondering what to say. They were too close by now not to talk or say hello. He was also the prince and should know all members of Nardir, right? “Uh, hello.” He spoke as he walked up. “I’m Kastra, you new here?” As if he didn’t know that this guy was new. He might not have personally known everyone in the move, but he had seen everyone. This guy hadn’t been there.

Uh, hello. I’m Kastra, you new here?”

Alexander almost jumped out of his skin as the other spoke- his mind too fuzzy with the scent of flowers and herbs as he did his best to remember what Hakan had been teaching him, and what he had already remembered on his own. The golden male lifted his head as he turned to look at Kastra, golden green eyes staring him down for a long moment; mouth hung slightly ajar as if to say something but nothing coming out.

There was...something about this boy...that left Alexander feeling as though there was a part of him that was missing. As if there were an explanation hidden behind a thick fog- why did he look so familiar and yet not familiar at all?

"H-hi," he stammered, slowly rising to his feet and looking at Kas with a sense of confusion and wonderment. Where had he seen him before?

"I'm...yes, I'm new here. Hello."

It was strange for him to sit there dumbfounded by something on the tip of his tongue and so out of reach. Surely, he'd never met this wolf before? Even his nose couldn't recognize the scent this boy held, but still his brain couldn't help but try to reach in to the void and pull something out. Alex would let a silence fall between them as he tried in vain to think of where he'd seen this boy before, but when nothing came to him, he merely blinked several times and began to speak again- as if reality had swung back in to play from a pause button that he'd forgotten to press.

"I'm, I'm, I'm sorry," he stammered out, shaking his head and reclining back to his rump, "you looked like...someone I knew. Sorry. I'm Tobie."

He inhaled slowly, head tilting as he continued to stare, breaking it only momentarily as he shook his head again, trying to dismiss the pang in his chest that came from looking at the other.

"Do I know you?" he'd ask, furrowing a brow. "Did you run with dogs at one point?"
