The air crisp, the ground gave way with a crunch as the grass sparkled in the pale light of morning, covered in frost from the night prior. Had this been the first frost of the season? Vapors exhaled from her nostrils and into the air, this would be the day. Paws trudged through the quiet lowlands, her mind already made up and yet... There was hesitance buried somewhere deep down, Indy was sure she felt it.

For as long as she could remember, her life had been out of her control. There was always someone managing her, telling her what to do, pushing her this way and that. Trying to make her into something she wasn't, but they did their best, and she listened well enough. Until they broke her and left her, she was useless after all. Her parents had concluded that, but it was regarded with the same numbing ache, that childlike cry for closeness. Lasting well into her adult years and even then, when Saboro was being ripped apart by some natural disaster she was ripped from that home by a mother that gave little care for her.

It was a wonder to her, even now why she had stayed here as long as she had. There were no bonds or ties, her sister was gone? Any connection the elusive golem felt for this place disappeared with Absinthe. However, it was still a daunting and scary thought to even consider what freedom truly was. That now her life was her own to lead, to make a life for herself somewhere far away from places like Gemini and Saboro. Where thoughts couldn't creep up and bleed together and cause further hurt. There were unspeakable traumas that needed to be answered for, but that closure would be far from her grasp, but if she could do herself this one favor. It'd maybe make a world of difference for her.

The musky stench of a border caught her nostrils flaring, not much longer now. And it wouldn't be, bi-colored eyes looked ahead, her expression blank, but behind that mask a blossom of hope tugged. It wasn't so scary, wasn't so painful. Paws took on a more brisk pace and with little heed for the place behind her, Indigo would slip into the purple dawn on the other side of freedom. Her time in Gemini would end as it began, unremarkable and unassuming. No one would remember her, or know her. She would cease to be in their minds, and something about that was comforting.

Once the plains began to morph into a forest, well she'd just slip into the treeline. There's a place were broken pieces like me can belong, but it's just not here.
