He knew not how long he had been out here for; his traveling had given him time to contemplate where to go next. Many markers had told him packs surrounded the area, and perhaps it was time for Capricorn to swallow his pride and join one. Each were different though, he had to choose wisely. He knew of the brutality that could happen — he would not join a pack much like Redania. The sun would guide him, he needed to have faith.
So as the God within the sky rose and laid his bride to rest, Capricorn stretched his long legs and stood for the day’s journey. A week or two ago he would have been slightly complaining about his feet feeling sore, but now they had grown accustomed to the amount of walking he was doing daily. Stomach rumbled against his ribcage, indicating he was undoubtedly hungry, but he could not find food at this time. He needed to get over the rolling hills of the pass between Gemini and Borogrove. The volcano of Saboro was far off in the distance, but visible to where he stood if there were a break in the trees. After quite a while of walking, he paused to sit, nails combing through his long tail in order to pick out some of the debris left from the forest. River crossed his mind — he wondered where she was now and how she faired with her injuries. He hoped those she ran from would not chase her any further than they had. Capricorn was just thankful that he could help her out. As he wondered, he didn’t notice another presence around him until he heard some foliage rustle. “Hello?” he called out, hoping whoever it was wouldn’t attack or shy away. Bright orange eyes kept a look out. ✦ ✦ Speech Text ✦ ✦

Time seemed to crawl.
He would wake- walk- then as soon as he felt he was getting somewhere, the sun would set once more and he'd have to try to find a safe place to rest for the night. Most nights it was simple for the small boy to find a place to curl up, last night though, he'd thought he'd found a great spot. A nice warm den underground, big enough for him to get into. Unfortunately, as soon as Ori had fallen asleep in this wonderful place, he was abruptly awaken by snarls and claws and teeth. He felt claws scrape against skin, and fangs hit bone as they sunk into his legs and head. Yelping and whining, Ori quickly scuttled out of the den, profusely apologizing to the mother badger as she hissed at him. He hadn't even seen her children in there, he was just so tired. Turning away from the hissing mother, he sniffed his running nose and blinked away the scared tears that ran down his face and went to find a new place to sleep for the night. He had a very fitful sleep too, dreaming of Kayira and Tauro both running on a beach he had never seen, and somehow Naru was there and his parents.. It was a wonderful dream, but it didn't last long, as he woke up to the birds chirping, and his body stiff and sore from his debacle in the night. Rolling onto his stomach, leaves stuck to his side, and head, and legs where the blood had dried form the mama badgers bites and swipes. Of course, Ori did not blame the mama at all- after all she was just protecting her babies. It was his fault for barging in, he should have been more careful. Sighing, groaning, and wincing, Ori stood on somewhat shaky legs. It had been a while since he'd eaten, and what happened last night didn't help his current state either. "Hello?" He heard his stomach growl- or someones stomach growl, but before he could react, he heard someone speak, and he whirled in the direction of the voice. His head swam, and eyes lost focus and he stumbled and fell over into the leaves. Maybe if he stayed there, this other wouldn't pay him any mind and leave the injured boy to himself. But knowing Ori's luck- that wouldn't happen so he'd squeak out a very small, and very barely audible "S- s- sorry.." |
