Hiraeth was a beautiful land, covered in dense forest and large, sprawling fields that gently caressed the waters edge that did it's best to separate them from the rest of the world. It was a world full of wonder, and magic; a place where those who were lost could once again find a place to call home.

The best part of Hiraeth, if one was to ask it's Queen, was the pack at night.

Deep within the forests little lightning bugs would spring from their hiding holes and begin to dance through the night sky, illuminating the world around them with a soft golden glow. Through the patches of sky lights in the tree tops the stars and moon could stretch in to view and make any spot a spot to stop and admire the beauty that lingered in a once forgotten home that had long since been repurposed by a pack of wolves that did their best to return to the Mother all that they could.

The greatest spot for taking in all of the beauty, however, was easily found somewhere down in a field. It was a prime spot to watch the water gently roll past from waterfalls somewhere not too far off, but far enough that their sound no longer echoed through the wind; where one could lounge and watch both the forest and it's inhabitants while also enjoying a prime view of the star studded sky.

It was here that Valen sat, golden blue eyes staring up at the inky void above her, her ears laid back on her head as she took in the familiarity of home. It had been some time since she had been able to find herself a moments peace since her departure and arrival home. There was the ceremony, the new members, and countless loose ends that needed tidying. And yet, under the cover of darkness, the Queen found time for reprieve from duties and the chance to take in a moment of quiet and serenity. It was as if on this particular night the All Mother had come to her and graced her with a blessing of calm collected peace.

She gave an audible sigh as she sat in the field of flowers and saplings, content with how things had begun to shape up in her home thus far, though concerns plagued the back of her mind of what still needed to be done for them to finally begin taking the right steps.

The Queen closed her eyes for a moment, offering a small smile as she turned her head towards the forest. A familiar scent was approaching, and Valen couldn't help but feel her heart pause in her chest as a smile curled round her lips. She opened her eyes to look at the approaching entity and gave a soft chuckle.

"A lovely evening, is it not?"

Spirits white as lightning,
shall on my travels guide me
The moon would quake and the stars would shake,
when' ere they espied me.

RE: You Sit and Talk the Stars Down From the Sky [Lucretia] - Lucretia - February 26, 2019

TRANSPARENCY

Some time had passed after her initial "ceremony", but the bitterness remained in her heart like a buzzing fly that just wouldn't piss off. Lucretia stalked through the forest of her new home, the home she was still trying to grow used to but she just... couldn't. This was, perhaps, more than what she bargained for. But that couldn't be! She had seen worse. She had done worse, and been worse. She could handle anything. If she couldn't handle this, then what was she really? Why could she not see herself being accepted here?

Because she wasn't. Wolves stared and glanced at her left and right everywhere she went. She could not escape their gazes. And... she loved it. She loved it so much. She was the talk of the town. What she didn't love was the overall bad taste that it left in her mouth when she was alone. Why didn't it feel right to be recognized in this way? She feared bringing it up with her... Queen. That word clung to the tips of her lips as she bit down on them. Queen Valen. She would never forget the moments they shared that night. The way the moon outlined her shape and she appeared to glow in her new reign... She numbed her. She came away with pieces of her still stuck on her brain. Never before had someone had so much power, so much control over Lucy. It was an unbearable hunger to be seen, to be known by her.

She was in a frenzy of ruthless honesty. She thought, I must find her. I must speak with her. And she found her finally, lounging in a great open field of flowers surrounded by gorgeous trees, all in different stages of growth. She hesitated, lingering at the edge of the forest still, and scowled. She swore, she had dreamed this. She just couldn't remember how it ended. Would she finally wake up, or fall deeper in this fantasy? Her ears twitched as Valen realized she was standing there and acknowledged her presence.

"A lovely evening, is it not?"

Lucretia blinked, then raised her nose to the wind as she trotted over to her. "Quaint." She sat a fair distance away, her eyes glued to the sky as she refused to lose her attitude with her companion. It's not like she knew better. In fact, Valen really had no idea what kind of wolf Lucy was yet. It was beginning to depress her how much she felt she had to hide in order to ensure everyone around her would be pleased and comfortable. She has hurt people in the past and... she didn't want to do that. She didn't want to lie anymore. Her gaze fell and she began to stare off into nothingness, her long tail gradually moving to caress Valen's back.

"Your God isn't thrilled with me, it seems... But, yes. A beautiful night it is."

"Your God isn't thrilled with me, it seems... But, yes. A beautiful night it is."

The Queen shifted her gaze to finally look at Lucretia. She offered a soft smile, slowly rising to a sit and looking out at her companion. There was a moment of reflection in what the other woman had said, but Valen couldn't help but smile and shake her head in disagreement.

"I think She is more than happy you are with us, Lucretia." Valen gave a soft hum as she turned her gaze from the other wolf up to the sky. A gentle breeze pushed past them both, allowing a moment of solitude and quiet to also settle in before the Queen resumed.

"I believe you've been brought here for a special reason."

Golden blue eyes lowered from her view of the stars to the edge of the forest, her raven fur bristling slightly before settling down. Thoughts of conversations with Elders ran through her mind. She did not doubt their wisdom, and she did not doubt her own charge of bringing in this outsider for whom she fancied. There were going to be changes within Hiraeth, come hell or high water and yet as Lucretia voiced her concerns, the Queen couldn't help but feel herself mostly responsible for the entire ordeal. She sighed, closing her eyes for a moment as she allowed another moment of quiet reflection to fall between the two of them. Valen swung her head to look over at her companion and beckoned her closer with a gesture of her own head.

"Come. Lay with me, won't you?"
