It had taken longer Al to get used to this new world than it had for him to get over the loss of his... 'home'.

Even though he was mostly white, the desert heat was not kind to his thick fur. He panted as he made his lonely way through the endless sand, wondering over and over if he had made the right decision.

Despite the merciless weather and the... huge ass desert surrounding him, Al immediately felt a kinship with it. It was wide, sparse and free - just like him. His tail wagging furiously, the former Saboran spectre continued his exploration. For the first time since he was a pup, Al felt excitement. Pure, boundless excitement. If this is what leaving Saboro truly felt like, he was only full of regret that he had not done it sooner... with his family. A pang of sadness struck him then. He was never going to see them again.

It was all their fault. Them. Saboro. Now, a fallen kingdom. Al had zero fucks to give.

The hybrid continued his lonely through the whiteness. He had wanted Bomi to come with him. More than anything. She said she had wanted to find somebody, and that somebody was not where Al wanted to be. He wanted to be as far away from Saboro as possible. Thus, they had parted. It was a pleasant enough goodbye, they had simply promised to see each other again and off they had gone on their respective businesses. Bomi to seek out whatever family she had left and Al to follow his into the great unknown. After a few days of searching, he admitted the defeat and finally accepted that they were all gone. Perhaps forever.

"I just hope you're all OK," he said, thinking of his two fathers, Aesop, Marsie, Aster. Poor little Aster.

The scent of wolves suddenly hit the former spectre. His ruby orbs tried to seek out any sign of movement, his white fur bristling. He did not know whether or not these wolves were friendly. Saboro had taught him there was no mercy when it came to their kind. You should always be on the defensive, no matter what pack you're dealing with. Given the harsh climate he had found himself in, Al knew these wolves would be as heated as the desert around him. He thought it was best to sit still for the moment, for he suspected he had arrived at a borderline of some sort. Perhaps he would be permitted to stay here. Even if the stuff he was standing on was a little weird, Al liked the quite and desolateness of his new surroundings.

It all reminded him of himself.

His eyes then saw the cave, the scent of wolves all the more stronger around the entrance. Al took one curious sniff and wondered if he could go in to take shelter from the blazing sunshine. Except something told him this would be a bad idea. For now, he simply waited... and continued panting.

Life was..life was..I have no idea.  It could have been days, maybe even weeks even since I had dredged the long journey with my burly companion to these lands.  Things happened so fast that I almost lost track.  I actually think I did lose track.  Each day brought on new things, though I was unsure if I felt excited about them...well except when we discovered the hot springs boiling in a portion of our lands.  It was amazing how I felt when Rainier urged me to take a dive in.  The water was so warm, so satisfied.  I thought for once all my worries could be washed away at that moment.  I felt so free, so homely, so warm...I felt like that maybe just once everything was going to be okay...

I heaved a deep sigh.  All things were too good to be true.

I slipped through the snow as I took long strides.  My form was lithe and agile so it was easier for me to take a quicker pace.  I could feel my paws meshing into the white cold stuff.  I gave a disgruntled groan and pushed forward.  I was heading towards the tunnels as I had decided to assist Jax and everyone with accepting new members.  I had not really seen in new faces in awhile, but maybe today would be a good change.  I was never really nervous meeting new faces..okay..maybe I was a little bit nervous.  I was still getting over the idea that not everyone was put off by my hellion appearance.  I was so abnormal that it often hurt..and scared me.

I winded myself towards the entrance and slithered through the path.  As I pushed through a scent wafted towards my nostrils.  I jerked to a halt, dirt kicking up as I inhaled and exhaled the scent.  With swift strides, I found myself near the entrance, fiery colored eyes turning themselves.  I shoved my ears forward and listened for a brief moment to the panting of a male.  I heaved my shoulders as I pushed myself out into view, studying the white colored male.  He looked on edge, almost defensive in a way.  I narrowed my gaze, that was the wrong pose.  Why was he on edge?  He had not dared to entertain the edges of the snow lands, so why the defensive nature?

I cleared my throat, "Hello?  How can I help you?"  I tried to make my response as nice as possible but straight to the point.  I had a general idea what he wanted..I guess.  I mean why else would he be here aside from wanting to join.

He was just about to step into the cave when another wolf emerged from the darkness within and cleared their throat in a way that suggested he was overstepping the mark. Al instinctively took a step back. "Oh, shit!" he declared, falling backwards. With her mostly grey coat, she almost blended into the darkness of the cave and he had not seen her until the very last second. But he had smelled her. Clearing his own throat awkwardly, Al stood up and shook sand from his fur. It was just as well that he had left Saboro before his Spectre career really took off. A real Wraith Spectre would never have been startled by a wolf when they were already aware of its presence. His red eyes adjusted to the semidarkness of the cave and he saw what had initially startled him: the wolf had scales on her nose and what appeared to be enhanced whiskers descending from her muzzle. He was not really perturbed by this - his dear friend, Bomi, had been a hellion after all - but his nose twitched with interest nonetheless.

"Hello?  How can I help you?"

Detecting a hint of suspicion behind the cordial tone - Al would consider her an idiot if he was simply imagining it - the wolf hybrid held up a pink paw in surrender. "Hey, my bad if I freaked you out or anything," the former Spectre told her. "I was just passing through and needed some shade from the sun. Didn't realise the cave was occupied."

As soon as he said 'cave' a gust of wind hit his face and his nose twitched at the smell of more wolves. The cave could not have been very deep if he was getting a gust of air already. It seemed to be a tunnel of some sort. A tunnel to where, though? And how many more were with the other wolf? Al felt no fear, he was simply extremely curious and somewhat hopeful. These would be the first wolves he would encounter outside of Saboro and he was full of questions as to what they were like. "Are you part of a pack, by any chance?" he quizzed her. "Look, could I maybe... join up with you guys? I'm a good fighter. I can protect you!"

Al's tail wagged furiously. He was, after all, barely entering adulthood and the realisation that he had potentially met a pack after so many days of travelling was very exciting for him. He was also a social animal and the loss of his family and only friend had hit him hard. Now he had a chance to join a new pack and have a new family. Perhaps even have a new name if he desired... No, he was actually fine with his name. He had come to terms with it a long time ago, especially since it was Sycamore who had given it to him. His Papa.

"Oh, I'm sorry, you need my name," he grimaced, having realised he had not given it. "I'm Althaea. Al, for short. It's nice to meet you. This desert's been kinda empty on the social opportunities."

Smooth, Al. Very smooth.

I quirked a brow, craning my head sideways in a questionable manner to his reaction.  His reaction was not to my appearance but more so to the fact that I had startled him.  I could not help but laugh at his state of shock as if he was a pup who had just been caught doing something he was not suppose to do.  I was actually quite amused with him falling backwards in shock.  I had no idea I was that startling and it was a very refreshing change.  It was a feeling that washed over me as if it was a sense of serenity.  I was not afraid but I was still weary of a stranger lurking on the edges of the cavern.  Most would have already ventured through the tunnels and made their way to the edge of the snowy terrain.  This wolf just stood his ground, cautious and very smart.

I twisted my head slightly as fiery eyes caught the male pushing his paws up in a side of surrender.  I shoved bat like ears towards the sound of his voice as he began to speak to me.  I took long strides around him, slightly towering over him.  It was a nice feeling to be taller than another for once.  Most of the wolves I hung out with were monsters to me.  I mean I was not by no means short, but sometimes I felt like a dwarf because they were massive beasts.  "I am not freaked out..I am surprised you are not more freaked out," I mused softly, my long blanket of a tail twitched behind me as I halted in front of the white colored male.

"The cavern isn't really occupied," I motioned with a paw, "It's actually just a tunnel that kind of confuses others," I let a grin slip along my muzzle.  The other wolf continued to talk, his nose twitching as the scent of the pack trailed through his nostrils.  I remained quiet, listening attentively to what he had to say.  He was really excited and I felt a inch of familiarity rising through the air.  The male was overly excited to the idea of wanting to be apart of a pack.  It brought back memories to the day I stepped near these borders with Ulvar.  I was kind of nervous and excited at the same time.  I still had butterflies in my stomach thinking of that day.  It was amusing to think that the day had not been that long ago.

My thoughts ran over the idea of the white male wanting to protect us.  I kind of allowed a mental giggle to surface at the idea of this wolf protecting the pack.  If only he knew what he was getting into.  The wolves, my brethrens and sisters, were monsters who were the same size as those of my blood.  "Well, Al, you can call me Lyrium," I stated, I was not really a fan of nicknames; but I am sure close friends have tried to shorten it.  "Follow me through the tunnel and I will show you to the immigration center," I paused for a brief moment, "I'll call another to fully integrate you into the pack."  I motioned with my body as I slithered back through the tunnel, swerving towards the immigration center which were just hollowed holes in the cavern, little dens.  I let out a howl towards the tunnel hoping one of the officers was nearby.

In the days following her pregnancy, the she-wolf could finally breathe again. It felt constricting, suppressing, as if she was being held back from doing her duties. Yet, she had to remind herself that she was still serving the pack by giving new life, new Bacchus life. The Bacchus Dire blood would continue flowing across this land if there were still those who could provide it. She was one of those individuals, and she took pride in that fact. Her contribution was a success, and she would ensure that those pups would flourish and fledge into well-rounded members of their home.

In the meantime, Yseult had gone back to her tasks, making sure everything remained stable within the pack and welcoming new potential. The latter would be seen on this day, for she heard the howl of the hellion emanating down the tunnel, toward the entrance into the outside world. Narrowed eyes resulted from her curiosity that the hellion was out greeting strangers. Had she been made an Immigration Officer? The woman didn't think she had, but it was possible it happened recently, and she still had yet to know. The older female would question it later, because two figures finally made their entrance into the Immigration Center.

The scarred woman gave a curt nod to both of them. Lyrium most likely provided the formalities, and now Yseult would get down to business.

"Hail. State your name and purpose of coming to our land, and what you can provide for us." It wasn't Yseult's intention to appear as intimidating as possible, even though her size and tone of voice said otherwise. However, this was not a forgiving place, and those who sought acceptance here would need to know that. In the harsh world of Bacchus, there was no room for the weak.

"I am not freaked out..I am surprised you are not more freaked out,"

Freaked out by what? An hellion? Al wasn't aware that the sentry's appearance was something to be 'freaked out' by. Nevertheless, he chose not to draw attention to it. He looked up at the sentry when she stepped forwards and towered over him but it was more out of awe and curiosity than fear. Would Bomi have grown this big eventually? Most likely. She certainly would've beaten him at playfighting then. "Uh - hi up there?" he asked, smiling nervously.

One thing was for certain: ain't nobody getting through this cave with this one on guard.

"The cavern isn't really occupied. It's actually just a tunnel that kind of confuses others,"

"Really?" Al asked, impressed. He looked around the sentry, nose still twitching as he felt another gust of air. That explained where that was coming from. He felt a shiver of concern though. Was this the only way out of the packlands? What would they do if there was an invasion? If the tunnel was compromised, that would leave the citizens within trapped. Swallowing, the former Spectre looked at the sentry. "I hope this isn't a stupid question but is there more than one way out of the packlands? In the event of an emergency?" he quizzed her. After all, to keep quiet about what he felt was a legit concern for his potential future pack seemed counterproductive.

"Well, Al, you can call me Lyrium. Follow me through the tunnel and I will show you to the immigration center. I'll call another to fully integrate you into the pack."

"Thanks, Lyrium. It's a pleasure," Al's pink paw drifted in the air for the moment, and he turned around to look at the desert one more time. There - beyond the sand - lay Saboro. His home since puphood. Even if his most beloved family members had also departed the place, he knew he had left Panda there. Perhaps he and Bomi should have approached his brother, asked them to escape with them? He immediately abandoned the concept almost as soon as it had materialised. Panda had been too far gone to not only have taken that bold step to leave, but to fit into another pack entirely. Al himself was also quite the manipulator and soulless monster in some respects, but he could adapt. He could love.

"Sorry, I was just thinking about something...," the former Spectre told Lyrium, before finally following her with a smile. "'Immigration center', huh? Fancy title."

With that, the marshmallow wolf would follow her deeper into the tunnel, red eyes scanning the holes around them with a mixture of suspicion and awe. He half expected a wolf to emerge at any moment and his nerves were tingling. Nevertheless, he stood next to the sentry and waited beside her.

It was not long before another woman approached them, looking friendly enough. Al smiled at her also. She was quite tall, a formidable kind of dire covered in whites and browns, with keen green eyes to contrast with his own.

"Hail. State your name and purpose of coming to our land, and what you can provide for us."

Not at all perturbed by the wolf's tone - he had been spoken to and treated worse by the Harpies growing up - Al nodded his head in acknowledgement. "Hi, my name is Althaea - Al, for short - and I've come here to join your pack and offer my services. I can fight and I'll fight well to protect this land. I was in the process of becoming something of a bodyguard in my old pack, trained to protect royalty and other higher ups," he explained levelly. "I can offer a demonstration, if you'd like?"

After all, there was never a bad time to exercise the muscles.

「L y r i u m 」
The white male was laughable in his little antics or I was just too serious.  I had always tried my best to make the most out of life more enjoyable.  I tried to be laid back and laugh with my fellow comrades.  Life back then had been so simple that it was hard not to just enjoy life as it came at you.  Sure there had been struggles here and there, but I was a pup back then.  What did I know about struggles?  My father tried to love us but at the same time he always wore a mask.  It was kind of hard to tell the emotions that raced through his mind.  Then my brother was always watching over us like our very own personal guard.  Yet, my little sister always was the one making the most out of life.  Then auntie Scrawl coddled us so much that I actually did miss it.

As such with life, we eventually learn to move on.

I shoved my ears forward as I turned my head into his question.  He wanted to know whether or not the tunnels were the only means to an entrance and an exit?  His question was a conflict between curiosity and suspicious.  Sure it was only natural to know where you could escape to in a worse case scenario; but at the same time he could be a spy trying to analyze his next victims.  Was the white mutt actually here to call Bacchus his new home or was he on some kind of secret mission to expose their weaknesses to his pack?  Was he here to wreck havoc and race back to his pack so they could march their army down to destroy their home.  I screwed my nose in mental thought.

If only he knew what kind of monsters called Bacchus their home.

I contemplated on whether or not I should tell him.  As a potential new pack member he did have a right to know; but I was kind of weary of telling him.  I could always just allow him to find out on his own as he would if he took the time to explore the winter wonderland.  "It is quite possible there is," I began, tilting my head slightly, "Though I suppose you will find out eventually." I trudged forward, reluctant in exposing anymore of my home to him.  Good ol' dear Al will just have to find out the hard way that no one ever messed with the monsters of Bacchus.  I was sure Rainier was more than enough to put this mutt in his place.  I could imagine he would be a good stepping stone for the big Mammoth wondering around.

I turned fiery colored eyes to the red eyed beast stopping beside me.  He was amused by the words 'Immigration Center'?  I craned my head questionably before responding, "Uh yea, totally," I cleared my throat just as the brown and white form of Yseult came into view.  I swung my head to face her as she stilled herself across from us.  The sight of her jolted memories to my mind as I made a mental note to talk to Rainier.  They needed help and I needed something to preoccupy my mind.  "Yseult," I spoke her name briefly in a way of acknowledgement before she went straight to business.  I remained quiet, listening to the both of them until his last statement brought me back to reality.

While the idea of him demonstrating that he could fight properly was amusing, it was how he said he was trained; or the statement that he was going to be.  Al was going to be trained to be a body guard to the Royals, which I could presume was the Alphas of his pack.  Why was he here?  "If you don't mind me asking," I started to speak up, "But why are you no longer in the running to protect your, as you call it, Royals and their kinship?"  I narrowed my gaze at him.  I needed to know.  Maybe it was the lack of wanting to trust so easily that raised the red flag in my head; but I needed to know.

"Hi, my name is Althaea - Al, for short - and I've come here to join your pack and offer my services. I can fight and I'll fight well to protect this land. I was in the process of becoming something of a bodyguard in my old pack, trained to protect royalty and other higher ups. I can offer a demonstration, if you'd like?"

She listened carefully to his words, sea-foam eyes never straying from the male. Her eyes narrowed when he spoke of his bodyguard training. While that can be impressive, the fact he said he was in the process of it was not. What made him stop? Was in incapability? Did something happen to the pack? The latter was always a possibility, as the scarred woman knew all to well. The reason why his training discontinued needed to be made clear, and Yseult was about to speak up before Lyrium beat her to the punch.

"If you don't mind me asking, but why are you no longer in the running to protect your, as you call it, Royals and their kinship?"

Yseult nodded in agreement with the hellion's inquiry. "Yes, why did your training stop? That is a very prestigious position, one that is not taken lightly." Her gaze was like pinpricks and tone of voice clipped, a silent message for the male. Not just anyone could become a royal guard, and she wouldn't stand for just anyone to help protect their Prime Minister. If he failed before, what's to say he won't fail again? It was a risk she wasn't willing to take, but before jumping to conclusions, the reason for his failure needed to be laid out on the table.

Part of this small investigation would need to be laced with some proof, of course. To see the male fight would give her a glimpse of his methods, his fighting style. Actions speak louder than words; if his fighting is poor, then it could be safe to assume he merely flunked out of training. There was always the risk of someone botching their fighting style, faking it or holding back so they wouldn't reveal certain moves, but she couldn't think of a reason why he would do that here, unless it was for deceit.

Ah paranoia, you could be so fickle sometimes...but you can never be too careful.

Let's see how he does.

"Alright, show me what you've learned," she said with a nod, before giving another pointed stare in his direction. "And don't hold back."

No secrets. Everything on the table.

(ooc: sorry for taking a while with this guys. ^^Wink

The two guardians of this strange pack reacted just as Al suspected they would to his story that he was once a Spectre - a bodyguard - to Saboro's monarchy. Just like with his question about a second tunnel, his abandonment of his former pack was met with skepticism and a kind of wariness. After all, if he had abandoned his pack - and, by association, his family - why the hell would they let him set up shop in a strange pack where he had no connections. Al did not want to go into details as to why he had grown to dislike Saboro and its leadership. He did not want to come across as a crazed, vengeful beast. However, his eyes darted between his two interviewers before he decided to answer their question as to why he ceased being one of Saboro's brainless weapons.

"I felt like the leaders in my former pack... took their positions too lightly," the hybrid explained, visible pain reflected in his red eyes as he began. "I was taught from a young age that our monarchy would protect us and look after us, just as long as we were loyal. Me and my siblings were born to two sentries, so they were important to the pack purely by their rank and they were also friends to several members of the royal family. So, we naturally obeyed our fathers and believed them. Then, my sister, Aster, was attacked by a fellow pack member. She was young and quite timid, not a fighter by any means and such individuals were looked down upon by this pack. So, I guess her attacker was trying to 'correct' this problem, the problem being my sister and the absence of any violence in her personality. She survived, but the attack had been prolonged and merciless. Now, pack law dictates that anybody who attacks a young pup for no good reason should be executed but, for some reason, my sister's attacker was allowed to live as a slave and Aster became too afraid to leave the den. I'm convinced her attacker got let off easy because Aster was not a capable fighter or anyone important. In the end, nearly all of my family left the pack during a stampede. I decided to follow them. I could not remain in a pack that allows its members to be attacked and maimed with no consequences. Why should I protect the monarchy if they could not even protect my family? It all seemed very one-sided, my family had fled, so I abandoned my post. I am an obedient, capable wolf but I expect my loyalty to be rewarded with loyalty and consideration in turn. Not deception or prejudice."

If the two sentries wanted to judge him for his actions, then so be it. Al had no intention of repeating his stunt. He could already tell by their evident disapproval of him abandoning his duties that this pack practised a different sort of loyalty from that of Saboro. He was happy to obey and follow orders - he was not a leader by any means - but he did not want to be screwed over, watch his family pay the price and have to lose them all over again.

"Alright, show me what you've learned. And don't hold back."

Yseult would have barely finished saying "and don't hold back..." before Al threw himself forwards with a snarl. Lesson number one: never give the enemy a chance to prepare themselves. He would aim to barrel into her with his body, aware that - if this were a real situation - he would have simply gone for the throat. However, it was a controlled environment, in a dark, cramped cave and Al had no intention of maiming his opponent. That would be bad manners. Of course, she had told him 'not to hold back' but killing somebody outright was against 'the rules' anyway. A Spectre was trained to fight as well as to kill. To fight for longer than is necessary was a bigger show of strength than to simply kill. Any reckless wolf could do that.

Whether or not Al succeeded in knocking over Yseult, he would try and leap away and eye the female, tail erect and awaiting her own move. Even though he was the bulkiest out of his siblings, his Spectre training had hardened his reflexes. He would also eye Lyrium. "You going to join in, Lyrium?" he would ask. "C'mon. The more, the merrier."

After all, he had never fought two opponents at once - or even an hellion - before, so this could get interesting. Besides, he wanted to fight for this moment. He had done too much running lately.

I was kind of glad that I was not alone in my paranoid of the new male.  It was rather fishy that he would claim to say that he was in the process of training to be some type of guard to protect what I presumed was his pack's version of Alphas.  That position, I guess, should hold quite a value and importance to one if selected.  Of course this was me presuming all this.  I had not been in a pack in so long that the new ideals of their ways was still a puzzlement to me.  Even dog packs were definitely different than this.  I guess it was because they were too human, too domesticated to actually have a proper hierarchy, structure.

The snow colored male began to answer our questions, maybe hoping to unease our paranoid; but I highly doubted that.  I turned my head as I shoved my ears painfully forward to listen to him better.  I was absorbed into the story as he began to describe his pack and his feelings towards it.  He had negative thoughts for his leaders and I was not sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.  I suppose not everyone was going to always agree with what the Alphas said and did; but they were suppose to keep you safe, right?  At least that was the impression I had gathered with my home pack and the dog pack.  We were suppose to be family and we were suppose to protect each other.

What was the point of a pack if all they did was break each other down to the raw core that made us vulnerable?  It was not right and even a half breed like myself knew that.  What kind of pack did this monster come from?  I narrowed fiery colored eyes at the one who called himself Althaea as his story ended.  Then he quickly switched his stance as he prepared himself to demonstrate to us what exactly he could do to protect our King.  Rainier would be most amused.  I tilted my head as I watched his movements, studying him as he 'attacked' Yseult.  Then his attention was on me and I wrinkled my nose.  "No," I snapped back as I shrunk away from the two.  The last time I had fought I had lost control.  I can't do this right now.

ooc: Sorry for the delay, it's a bit short my brain is mush atm

The woman absorbed the male's words, turning them over and analyzing them in her mind. So, his own flesh and blood was attacked by a fellow packmate, and that packmate practically got off scot free from the ordeal. She couldn't blame Al for holding a grudge against his former pack and leaders, although part of her understood the attacker's mentality. Weakness had no place in this world. If you couldn't hold your own, the earth and all its inhabitants would chew you up and spit you out. Yesult had to learn that the hard way by being thrust into reality at such a young age. She was never the same since. Perhaps at one point she was like Al's sister, innocent and carefree, the only thing her mind fretting over was if she was making her family proud. That was long ago though, carried away by the winds of change. Everyone changes, whether they're ready to or not.

Althaea's argument was fair however, and she understood. He wanted the best for his family, just as she wanted the best for hers, as well as for her new family. Isn't that what they all wanted? Those that cared anyway, and it seemed that Al was someone who did. She couldn't fault him for that, and it is an admirable trait. They could benefit from another loyal individual, so long as he didn't harbor his own deceit.

She had barely finished her sentence when the brutish male threw himself at her. The she-wolf had been on her toes from the beginning though, and was partially expecting something to this degree. Her size didn't work in her favor however, and she felt the weight of the male hit her in her side as she turned to dodge. Heavy paws skidded against the rocky terrain as she kept herself upright, refusing the treacherous pull of gravity. She snarled instinctively in Al's direction, prepping herself for another attack.

"You going to join in, Lyrium? C'mon. The more, the merrier."

She was half tempted to launch herself at him while he spoke, but that would be too predictable. He had just pulled that stunt on her. Instead, she took to circling him, sizing him up. Sea-foam eyes never left him, even as Lyrium spoke. Yseult had to admit, she was a bit disappointed in the hellion's lack of interest in joining in. Where Yseult had more muscle, Lyrium was sleeker and built more for speed. Althaea would be matched against both, an ultimate test of strategy. Ah well, not everyone was a fighter.

Suddenly, the burly woman hurled herself at the male, this time aiming to throw her weight at his legs. She tucked her chin to hide the underside of her neck, teeth bared and ready to snap at any limb that came close enough. If he moved, she would brace with her hind legs to continue pushing herself in his direction, attempting to throw him off balance by grabbing a leg and pulling upward before swinging around and checking him with her hip as she did so. If she succeeded, she would let go as soon as his body was headed toward the ground to prevent any dislocation in his joints. Then, she would try to pin him to the ground, seeing if he could throw her off. If she were unsuccessful, she would quickly try to regain her footing and look out for any oncoming attacks, facing toward Althaea again.
ooc: Run-down of Yseult's moves:
- Hit by Althaea's attack, regains balance before falling
- Runs in and attempts to knock him off balance by grabbing a leg and pulling it upward
- Goes to do a hip-check while attempting to unbalance him
- If he's knocked down, tries to pin him

Let me know if anything is unclear or needs changed <3

The two officers seemed content with his explanation and Al felt more at ease. After all, it would be rather awkward to have spill one's guts and then be immediately turned away. He had not intended to offer them a sob story, more of a reassurance that he had not abandoned Saboro willingly. In fact, he had waited far longer than any of his family, to try and weather the storm of new leaders and disappearances. In the end, there had been no real reason to stay. His family were gone and so was the fire in his belly that had once burned for Saboro.

That did not mean it could not be reignited for Bacchus.

Shooting the hellion a 'suit yourself' shrug when she declined to join in with the fun, Al watched as Yseult stumbled and almost fell backwards. Almost. With admirable grace, the guard regained her footing and began to circle him as he spoke to her fellow guard. He kept one ruby eye on her, certain she would attack while he spoke. She did not. Huh. Quite a noble one, wasn't she? It was then she leapt forward herself. Rather than attempting to dodge, Al growled and eagerly leapt forward himself, trying to snap at his opponent himself. The savagery of Saboro was still in his veins after all and the heat of the battle was causing him to feel nothing but a mad rush of excitement. His Spectre training had taught him to use this to cloud his fear. Unfortunately, it had worked too well on the young hybrid and his unwillingness to go on the defensive landed him in an undesirable position. He felt teeth close in on his leg. It was immediately pulled up. Knowing that to struggle would mean damaging the leg, Al forced himself to go limp and allowed Yseult to send him flying.

His back connected painfully with the cave's floor. Yseult was upon him immediately, trying to pin him. With a horrible snarl, a kind of indignant anger would set in and he immediately aimed for her face, snapping and trying to get some grip on her shoulder. If he missed, he would simply keep snapping at the face looming above him and wiggling under he found some sort of hold. If his teeth found any part of her, he would hold on with all his worth. He knew this was just training but he was determined to make a nuisance of himself. To turn himself into the very last thing you wanted to stay on top of. If the border guard refused to back off, he would try pulling her off him with a shake of his head. He was desperate to regain his footing and make his own attempt at pinning his opponent but, for the moment, he had to focus on one problem at a time.

summary of attacks
- runs at Yseult, mistaking her lunge for an attempt to knock him over herself. Thus, she gets his leg. He allows her to throw him to avoid break/dislocation.
- tries to bite and get a grip on her shoulder while she attempts to pin him. If successful, will hold on and try and pull her away from him.
- continues to try and throw her off if above is unsuccessful, snapping at her face, neck and shoulders. Not willing to let his basic ass be sat down, in other words.
