It was time for some structure to their little group, beyond what they'd gathered already. It had been about a week, which gave everyone time to recover from the trip and time to learn the territory some more. They hadn't even attempted to head to the Southern Valley yet to see what the status was, and he hadn't yet gone exploring towards the restricted zone, though he knew he probably should at some point. He'd spent the first six months of his life there, before being thrown into battle training, so he remembered how to get to the castle but not the details and especially not the places there that had been closed off to children.

He hoped it wasn't too destroyed from all the wolves who had invaded and overthrown their pack.

The king made his way towards a jagged hill, the remains of an old tower that had once been a calling-place, where news was shouted so any nearby could hear. He was sure there was some better name for it but it had been a long time, so he had forgotten. He carefully picked his way onto the flat top of it and stood there, surveying the icy land calmly. After a few minutes of silence, he lifted his head and howled, calling his pack to him. His howl was deep and reverberating, holding a quality that was unique to wolves with their roman noses. Bacchus, to me. There was no urgency in the howl, but it was an order just the same. A few had made their intentions of roles clear, but only the returning male Kaz had given a specific profession he wanted.

For your first post in here, if you want to just do bullet points or have a very short post, that's fine! Replies to when he begins talking should be regular length, though, please!

It'd be tough trying to find plants, specific barks and just tools in general.

Somehow, she managed to pick up a few things. Crocuta let out a loud exhale-- all she ever did was go out into the land, checking every last trail she could remember when it came to the old gathering routes. There was plenty of pine trees around, but she just knew there were some larch trees somewhere. The inner pine shell was good for their worn and bloodied pads from the journey, but she knew larch was a fragment better and a little easier to chew or mash into a poultice. A grunt and Crocuta adjusted her gait, shaking the ice from between her fuzzy toes. Ice bruise. Theres something else to worry about.  Crocuta huffed, getting annoyed at her carelessness.

So far, her biggest achievement was getting what remedies she could find--the next step would be testing them out on her brother. Crocuta chuckled at the thought, shaking her head. No, no, save it until it is needed. She reminded herself with a soft, amused grin plastered on her painted face.

Bacchus, to me.

Rainer's howl seemed to vibrate the air with its intensity and Crocuta's ears caught every note of it.

Without hesitation, the black bacchus pushed off into a lope, bouncing over the snowy ground with some excitement in her strides. Whether it was a positive or negative excitement was to be decided when she arrived at the calling-place and saw Rainer--his appearance alone would suffice on whether or not she should be ready to defend the pack or sit with them. With a deep exhale, Crocuta slowed down as soon as she came within sight and with a toss of her head she  let out her hyena-like whoop to announce her arrival.

"Aye, Lord!"
Crocuta cried out as she greeted him, nodding as affectionately towards Rainer as she did with the rest of her family.

The snow that surrounded her den was glorious, the cold sweeping past her nose felt so much better than the scorching heat of the desert. A rough tongue swept over a hooked claw, the frost clinging to her fur. The nest within wasn't quite finished, she needed more padding, perhaps hides collected by deer or caribou. She would have to work on that. For now, she wanted to rest her wary paws. Hades had traveled across the desert and across all of Bacchus in an exploration fit. She was tired, but she knew there was never rest for the wicked.

A howl echoed across the valley, the wind carrying Rainer's call far.

Orange eyes peeked through her small den opening, wondering if the call was important enough. He called for his people, go gather for some bullshit reason probably. She contemplated not coming, but Hades talked herself into wiggling herself out and into the snow once again. Tongue licked her teeth, feeling the cold suck the warmth from her jaws, breath warming her throat once again. "This better be good." she inquired to herself, trudging through the frozen lands.

The skeleton of an old ruin caught her attention before she caught the red breast of their leader. Another was there too, one she recognized from the band she followed. The hellion wanted to reply with some wit but the beardog silenced her tongue. Instead, she would sit and listen to whatever he had to say.

The shaggy male huffed to the skeletal remains of the shattered tower, falsified contentment plastered on to his body and posture. The listener was contemplating his farce occupation that would help him hunt for information in plain sight. Perhaps a scribe or maybe a consular or perhaps some sort of priest. He needed to be someone that people went to to tell their problems. Someone who the people trusted. Maybe he would consult their nearly monochrome leader, she what the male had to say on the subject. He sat himself down near the growing bundle of canines, his tail thumping irregularly against the ground, he composure soft and open for conversation, a bland but happy expression on his face. Talk to me, he willed silently tell me your secrets, I want to hear your stories. Tell me what you know.

First came the glowing lady, her black fur contrasting sharply with her painted glow. Her tack clung to her body neatly and he gave her a welcome nod, appreciative of her presence. She had been there the day he'd found the first of their kin's bones. It had only been yesterday or the day before, but the statement of intent for building the cemetery had not yet been made - it was on the agenda for today. She greeted him with a cry and he smiled back, nodding affectionately back at her. Second came the hellion, born of wolf and bear. He admired her as she approached, still intrigued by her appearance and existence. She sat silently and he offered a nod of greeting, shifting his attention afterwards to Kaz, the male who had changed his name and had come to him already. He offered a sly wink, reminiscent of the beginnings of flirting that had occurred when the male had first rejoined the family.

Time for business, no time to wait.

I hope you are all settling in, he began, aware of stragglers who might be approaching still - he would nod to any as they found their seats or stood in the snow below. Vee arre finally home. Zhere is much to do before vee can call our land home truly. His way of speech had likely become a staple to some, a familiar oddity that he'd clung to from their old home. Many here had lost any form of old accent from old Bacchus. He did not fault them for it, for he loved variance. Zhee other day, Crocuta, he indicated to her in case anyone was still learning names, such as the male Kaz who had been the first to wander onto the territory after rumors of the pack's revival. and I discovered bones of our lost kin. Vee have decided to build a cemetery, as you may have noticed, near zee Residential area. Vee need all help vee can get in building a wall around it in memory of our lost kin. After zhis meeting, vee vill go to vork on it, so any vho vish to help are velcome to stay.

Furzermore, he continued, Vee have discovered the Southern Valley - vhich vas the home of livestock years ago - has had its entrance closed off. Vee must carefully dig it out so that vee may make use of it. Zhere may be volves vithin, so ve must be careful. They had no idea the state of the interior. It was highly likely that the livestock within had died off or escaped during the last five years, so they might have to do some shepherding of animals from the Outskirts or beyond - a dangerous, annoying task. Getting livestock through the desert had likely been a hassle when it had first occurred, generations ago. Vee vill do this once the cemetery has its foundation, at least. If it had been five years, the livestock could wait. The small pack was doing fine on the small population of deer and pygmy mammoths within the gates.

Now, onto the important thing. If the cemetery and Southern Valley was boring news to the others, this would be more interesting. All adult citizens need a profession - please state vhat you vish to be. This may change if new need comes in, do not worry. Such as once they dug out the Southern Valley and determined the need for shepherds. Also, he had yet to go to look for the Castle - he just hadn't had time yet. If Ouija or the two sisterwhelps had arrived, he would smile at them fondly and decide that he would speak with Ouija in particular later about following around others of different professions to decide on what she would do when she came of age.

No worries if you haven't posted yet! You can still say you came before he started speaking.

It was weird being in the homeland once more. It felt like not much has changed since he was a young pup. Then again, he really had no recollection of the place when he was younger as he was no more then a few days old. Still, Jax loved the new area, especially since they seemed to have a good leader with a nice sense of humor.

Prancing, the multicolored male made his way towards the group as he heard the call from Rainer. A leg bone from his meal still handing in his mouth. His Green eyes looking around as others moved towards the call as well. His large ears picking up the sound of the meeting as Rainer came into sight. This would be a long meeting, Jax was sure, so he was glad that he brought a chew toy for himself to chew on.

The large male stopped in his track, once he was close enough to the group. His eyes briefly looking over the other members who had arrived. Most he had yet to see. The hoofy male would more then happily greet everyone, but held himself back as Rainer started to speak again. A wave of sorry taking over himself at the mention of a deceased pack member. That was one way to start a pack meeting, that's for sure.
Jax moved the bone in his mouth with his tongue, sucking on the delicious marrow as he listened to the packs leader. Nodding his head in agreement to the things Rainer spoke of, already deciding that he wanted to help with both of the things that needed to be done.

"Ah, I'll assist ya by being a Imigration officer, Sir." Jax said, offering Rainer a cheesy grin like he does with everyone.

She heard the call.

It is a call she would answer to without question, without a second thought. Large paws plodded through the snowy landscape with purpose, intending to hear what their Prime Minister wanted of his citizens. There was much to do, she knew that much. This land is not how she had left it all those years ago. She had an inkling of the tasks Rainer would bestow upon them, but nonetheless, she would be there to hear his orders issued.

The white and brown she-wolf arrived on the scene to see some of the other citizens have already gathered. She still had yet to get to know each of them, but they seemed like a promising bunch. As cynical as she could be, she must have faith that these other members would do their best to help rebuild the kingdom that had crumbled into ruins. She took a seat near the front, giving Rainer her undivided attention.

"I hope you are all settling in. Vee arre finally home. Zhere is much to do before vee can call our land home truly." Yes, that much was certain. "Zhee other day, Crocuta and I discovered bones of our lost kin. Vee have decided to build a cemetery, as you may have noticed, near zee Residential area. Vee need all help vee can get in building a wall around it in memory of our lost kin. After zhis meeting, vee vill go to vork on it, so any vho vish to help are velcome to stay.

The speckled female gave a nod of her head in response. She would stay, of course. It was her duty to those alive and to those no longer with them. She couldn't save any of them from the tragedy that struck, but she could do this one last thing for them in their honor.

"Furzermore, vee have discovered the Southern Valley - vhich vas the home of livestock years ago - has had its entrance closed off. Vee must carefully dig it out so that vee may make use of it. Zhere may be volves vithin, so ve must be careful. Vee vill do this once the cemetery has its foundation, at least."

This she could do as well, and actually itched to do. Raising her head to speak clearly toward him, she stated, "My Lord, I offer my service to both. I would gladly help with the construction of the cemetery as well as clearing the entrance to the Southern Valley." It would be heinous not to.

The topic soon changed to other matters at hand, matters that were crucial for having the pack run as smoothly as possible.

"All adult citizens need a profession - please state vhat you vish to be. This may change if new need comes in, do not worry."

The woman knew what she had to offer. She waited until the purple hued male finished, nodded in his direction, then spoke of her own desires. "My Lord, I feel my skills lie more within military professions. We do not have an army at the present moment, nor do we need one quite yet, unless unexpected circumstances should arise. Whatever you see fit for me in that regard." She would leave that up to him. She knew better than to ask for professions that you need to earn, and they were not formidable enough to be a strong fighting force just yet. "I do suggest that we start thinking about having a defense set up, and taking a roster of those interested in being guards or soldiers. We may not have immediate threats now, but you can never be too cautious." She paused to let her words sink in before continuing. "I have been thinking about Bounty Director, but regrettably I never did learn literature." Casting her gaze around, she addressed everyone this time. "If anyone knows literature and would like to bestow their knowledge onto me, I would be most grateful." Turning back to Rainer, she issued, "If nothing else, I may settle for Immigration Officer for now."

Now, last order of business.

After another pause, she went on. "Another thought I had concerns the hostiles from before. While it doesn't concern the hostiles themselves, it concerns their methods." Wretched bastards. "During our trials that we will inevitably have down the way, we may end up taking prisoners." Or taking prisoners within our own home. "My suggestion is setting up a prison system to keep inmates." She dipped her head toward the Minister. "If this were to be implemented, I offer myself as Warden if or when the time comes." She was no longer a prisoner, and she would make it blatantly obvious to those who would be.

Crocuta tucked her paws more neatly under her as others began piling in. It was easy enough to recognize those who came in alongside each other; but, there was one or two, such as an older male, who seemed familiar yet unfamiliar all at the same time. Either way, Crocuta's attention was pulled onto Rainer as he began speaking; although, the prancing male pulled her attention enough to make her scowl at him.

Zhee other day, Crocuta and I discovered bones of our lost kin. Vee have decided to build a cemetery, as you may have noticed, near zee Residential area. Vee need all help vee can get in building a wall around it in memory of our lost kin. After zhis meeting, vee vill go to vork on it, so any vho vish to help are velcome to stay.

Crocuta nodded briefly, "Aye, once it is done, I will paint it as a sign of both memorial and a'warning to watch your paws." She'd slither in her words cooly, careful not to interrupt Rainer.

Vee have discovered the Southern Valley - vhich vas the home of livestock years ago - has had its entrance closed off. Vee must carefully dig it out so that vee may make use of it. Zhere may be volves vithin, so ve must be careful.

Interest twinkled in Croc's green eyes. That was something she wouldnt mind getting her paws into. She was interested in getting her paws dirty once again, to see what lay beyond that closed off valley. Whether it be mountains of corpses, food, enemies or the livestock themselves, she felt eager to investigate it.

All adult citizens need a profession - please state vhat you vish to be. This may change if new need comes in, do not worry.

Ears twitched and Crocuta stood, "At the moment I do believe I'd be best at aiding our pack--I offer myself as a Doctor, a healer to our family." She'd let her voice boom, her tail wriggled slightly, betraying some joy in the idea of aiding her family. It'd be nice to rekindle her old training anyway, besides, there were definitely a few raw paws still hanging about the pack just from the journey, let alone any injuries they'd managed to get afterwards.

As she sat there, more came to the call and Rainer even offered a little more words to his call. There had been bones discovered of the dead, not just in ruins of a civilization that once was in the brutal snow-covered valley. Hades often wondered if the fur-less humans died off or relocated themselves because of the cold, but either way their long-lost structures had given these Bacchus dires a home for many generations. Rainer even spoke of livestock being used by this pack which piqued the beardog’s interest but she rested her jaws on the matter.

If you need me for the cemetery or whatever, sure, I’ll help.” Hades was a bulky creature, able to help move large objects and dig. She had often dug for food, her claws modeled after her mother which also played a part in catching fish as well. She knew she had to work with these wolves in order to establish herself here, so she sighed through her nose and swallowed her pride.

The others talked of what they wanted to do when Rainer offered suggestions for jobs. Hades flicked an ear as she could care less what she would do as a job, but this was necessary she supposed. “I’ll do whatever you need me to do.” she said and shrugged a shoulder. “I’m more brawn than brain, so if you need me to beat the shit out of someone, call me.” She felt that’s what she was good for, anyway.

The hellion sighed then, remembering that winter was coming fast and her month of hibernation was settling in as she felt the need to eat, eat, eat, so she figured she would have to tell Rainer. “Hey, so uh, I have this thing that happens.” she spoke up, not caring about the others in the vicinity. “Being half bear and all, I do have a period in which I sleep for an entire month. Hibernation and what not, so uh. That’s coming up soon. I feel it.” And fast.

Basma

The howl of a Bacchus wolf reverberated over the valley like the mourning of ghosts. The howl of a full Bacchus, as strange as it was soothing, had returned to its homeland at last. Rainer. He was calling them together, likely to flex his status as Prime Minister and restore Bacchus to its former glory, instead of the desolate trash-heap it was currently. Basma was all to happy to comply, at least for now. Seeing his homeland like this... it looked like the monstrous plague still had its teeth in the land, gnawing it to tatters and bleeding out its life force. He missed old Bacchus. Strong Bacchus.

”I hope you are all settling in. Vee arre finally home. Zhere is much to do before vee can call our land home truly.” That was an understatement of what was to come. Bones littering the ground, denied proper burial. The Southern Valley blocked off. All awful, surely, but Basma was uninterested. He had prepared himself for that and far worse. No, it was the Minister’s last statement that caught his silver slit eye— professions.

He allowed the other pack members to go first, interested in their choosings. When at last the curious wolf-bear had spoken, Basma sat delicately, head held high enough to look prim and low enough to look submissive, and spoke. ”Alas, I am the opposite. I am more brain than brawn. It was always my brother who excelled in the more physical arts. But I believe I could be of great use in diplomacy for our great nation, or in aiding our whelps. After all, I was there in the time of the original Bacchus, and I wish to impart its glory. But of course, my lord,” said Basma, pausing briefly in his entreaty, ”In the end, I am yours to command as you see fit.”

Basma was sure to present the perfect image of submission. Not so much that it was groveling—but he wanted to allay any fears Rainer might have of him being a threat. After all, he had been an heir in the past, and much more since. He wouldn’t be surprised if the new Prime Minister was wary of him. Basma didn’t want that. He needed to be seen favorably, he needed to be a friend, an advisor... He wanted the familiar warmth of power, and challenging Rainer now would grant him none.

BJØRN
He wasn't late, never late. He just moved slowed along the terrain, his huge bacchus figure nearing the edge of the gathering and his array of colors moving in waves as his muscles worked under the fur to get him to his destination. Never late.

He took a quick glance at those that had arrived before him, pleased with a green glowing monster and the dirty blood of a hellion peaking it's ugly face in. Ugly beings coming to Bacchus thinking they were worthy - no matter the ugly could take up the space instead of beauty, let the world see what disgust was, let the world behold of what it had to offer of reality. The real world wasn't bright and shining or a cascade of brilliant colors, it suited him to see these beings and he was content sitting between them now and listening to the proclaimed king Rainer.

All adult citizens need a profession - please state vhat you vish to be. This may change if new need comes in, do not worry. He scratched his chin for a moment at the end of the long on-ramble about useless shit like 'mourning the dead'. Death had no meaning like that, death was useless it took my son. What had a cemetery done to help him? NOTHING. Useless, worthless to bury the dead as if it was going to help. "Peh." He waited for the others to speak about the boring professions, until he rose from his position.

"Police - Keeping law and order within the pack structure. For Citizens and visitors." Keep them all in check and see them bleed. He wondered if the glowing wolf would bleed green if he bit him? Tempting, but not here, not now. One day he would take the chance to take a closer look at his ugly. He sat back down with a grunt and waited to see if Rainer would accept this course of action - if not? Well then Bjørn would have to insist a little harder.

Even kings bleed gold.

- Shadow wanders in late. She is mostly unfazed by this because she is new and still quite wary. Doesn't like the attention it will probably draw to her, though.

- She bows to Rainer, the only familiar face. This is a deep bow, for now he is her superior, her alpha, the object of her undying loyalty. He saved her that day from a miserable life and she would be his to command in return.

- She hears Bjorn's reply and it sparks her interest, sounds right up her alley.

- "Police," she grumbles. "Sound's about right. I would like to be police." For now she thought to herself. In truth, military would probably be her future, but policing would be a good way for her to get to know the pack and her kind first.

-"I also volunteer to help dig the Valley and build the cemetery wall." Shadow is eager to help in any way possible, though her gruff exterior does not show this.
