Ki Tisa (who is still in Inaria rather than Gemini because he's lost all control of his life and has decided time is probably fake) is face down in the sand on the beach.

Weiss sits down next to him, probably after watching him for at least an hour from the treeline.
She puts a paw on his back to make sure he is breathing. She wonders if his nose tickles with all that sand in it.
A better joke would have been to write a novel here for a reply, but who has the energy not me no sir.

He sneezes, so it probably does tickle. Where does the sneeze go? Into the sand. Everything about this is horrible and he hopes the crabs are coming to end his suffering soon.

She pats Ki Tisa's butt, already covered in some sand. "You should help me help him." Become a mermaid that is.

"Hello," replies Cuff, because that is polite. She studies the younger woman and decides, after a lengthy pause:
"You don't."
That is not as polite.
"What's wrong?" she eventually asks, drawing close, lifting a paw until it hovers (awkwardly) over the sand boy.
Mom mode activated?

She pauses, and wonders if she should bury her face in the sand too. There's enough beach, though she doesn't feel like dealing with an itching nose.
That was probably in her head anyway.
Instead she says, "He needs more seashells," and gets back to patting down sand.

"Seashells," she replied when Cuff asked. "Sand tails need seashells."
It felt less like deflection and more 'making this mermaid is the only thing i can process right now'
She looked over them and out at the water, Ki Tisa's groaning a buzz under her paws.
It was probably nothing.

She turns to Cuff, and blinks at her. She hasn't connected the dots because she's a dog and not a superhuman, capable of an existential crisis but not reading family trees in profiles.
"Should we give him a huge sand-butt?"

A hermit crab pops out of a hole in the sand, marching diligently towards Ki Tisa with claws upraised in preparation for battle.
If you look very closely, you might notice it has Luxord's face. That's weird.
What I'm saying is, this crab will kill you if you hurt her, Ki Tisa.
