The air was crisp and cold in the midwinter, making itself known with the steam breath that marked every exhale. The once viridescent lands were covered with snow and the hand of death robbed the branches over their leaves. The only green in the land was the evergreen trees with their dark emerald needles. There was a stillness to the land with the lack of rustling canopies, the frozen water, and the lack of wildlife that had fallen to hibernation. The sun was midway along its journey to the horizon and the brilliant rays glinted off of the snow.
In what had once been a meadow before the hand of winter had covered it with snow was a massive creature. With winter's arrival, his fur had grown even thicker over his broad, muscular frame that made him seem even larger than he was with the thick mane stretching over his neck and back that made him seem even taller than he was. Large paws were connected to thick limbs that carried the oversized creature across the former meadow as his broad head was lowered to the ground. Sabres poked out from his closed mouth, marking him as a sabretooth cat and he rivaled most sabres in size. A flower crown made of pink and white winter-blooming flowers rested upon his head along with multiple feathers in his fur.
