just breathe [acceptance] - Illidan - November 27, 2018 The storms have come and gone, and like a piece of drift wood, the pastel boy wandered his way through the currents of an unfamiliar landscape. He knew he was far from home, his sky-blue eyes staring at the lush canopies that were once full of alpines and oaks. The old willow was so far now. The hoots and howls of the night frightened the boy into odd directions until he didn't know which way was up and which way down. Home was but a distant memory now, a fate he let lead.
The warmer climate was so odd. Illidan was so much more used to the cold creeping in and the thunder storms looming beyond the Wall of Teeth winking every now and then. Now the sky was a rare occurrence, but spots of blue could be seen in between tangled fingers of vines. "Hello?" he called softly, unsure anyone was actually there. He would occasionally call out as if searching for any living thing. The songs of birds made him feel slightly better as it was an indication he wasn't the only breathing entity, but no one calling back made him uneasy. After a while, the boy sat down with a dramatic sigh, unsure of where to go from there. ✦ ✦ Speech Text ✦ ✦
RE: just breathe [acceptance] - Meztli [RP] - November 27, 2018 Patrolling the walls around El Dorado was Meztli's duty as it was what protected the lands of her home for many moons. The mighty natural stones overgrown with the lush of greens from the forests still needs to be watched, however. Meztli had walked alongside these walls, inside and out, countless times since becoming a Lark and she will continue to do so for as long as its needed. Mez was just outside one of the hidden entrances into the wall and its tunnels when Maize had started flying around erratically. Was someone nearby? She started moving but paused when she heard a voice. It was distant but close by enough to hear and it was a bit too close to El Dorado's territory for comfort. Meztli decided to act. Leaving Maize behind, her movements were quiet and swift. Even walking above the leaf litter that blankets the ground of these forests in and out of El Dorado, silent walking is something one learns while growing up in these forests. Meztli has lived in these forests since birth and trained as a Lark has befitted this but it still won't guarantee she won't be noticed. Arriving at the location of the voice was, Mez didn't break her advance... but rather, climbed a bit. Perching upon a large mossy root at the base of a grand tall tree, Meztli silently peered down at the daub colored wolf slightly below her. "Hello." Meztli almost parroted, perhaps a bit more flat sounding and much less a question. Mez then shook her fur, feather spreads poised in full show, gleaming in what curtains of light shone through the canopy above. "Are you lost dear?" RE: just breathe [acceptance] - Illidan - November 30, 2018 Eyes wandered his surroundings with dreamy wonder. The haze within his mind was a veil in which he glanced through, questioning if this was all real or another faraway land in which his mind conjured. The warmth felt inviting, one he recognized as an embrace with soft kisses upon his cheek. The green reminded him of a voice as soft as the rain that specked against the weeping willow. Long tendrils of vine sheltering the family against anything that may come their way in the form of vivid and oily nightmares. The sludge never touched the speckled boy, and as a voice rang from above, he barely noticed.
Hello. It said, feminine in nature. The stern firmness moved his head to glance upward where the feathered canine stood. "Lost?" he asked, eyes scanning over everything once more. "Yes. Yes, I think I am lost." he said, the inner child swelling up into his throat to cry, to throw dust into his eyes to make them water. With a quick swallow, Illidan pulled the child back down and instead, left his heart exposed. "Where am I?" A confirmation that he was, in fact, lost beyond belief. Yet, deep down, isn't this what he wanted? To be spirted away and ending up in a lost land where he could have adventures? This was opportunity, my dear boy! "Do you live here?" he finally asked, standing up and tilted his head so he could view her fully. Did wolves normally have feathers? ✦ ✦ Speech Text ✦ ✦
RE: just breathe [acceptance] - Crocodile - December 25, 2018 Crocodile had honestly been doing his job because one of his many tiny lizard whispered to him, telling him there were eggs lost beyond the tunnels. So the boy had eagerly ventured out, knowing he could because of his job but having the goal of eggs in mind. Through the tunnels he were still learning, but felt he knew better than the heart of El Dorado. This place was still taking time to get use to, but Croc was working with it. He had learned the ranks, learned his job, learned what they expected. There were families and some kind of tension, but in all honesty he more of ignored that than forgot. It wasn’t worth his time. The boy had scooped up the eggs, some in his mouth and some carried by the lizards that buried in his fur. It would look...almost gross to anyone else to see him. But he cared little, the eggs resting easy on him and in his mouth. "Where am I?" The boy’s spotted ears swerved towards the sound, and soon after so did his body. The lizards started taking the eggs from his mouth, carrying them along his spine to nestle in his neck fur. "Do you live here?" Crocodile would pretty much barge in, looming over the shorter boy in front of him. The aviari was sitting in a tree, but Croc paid them no mind. It had almost felt like a long time since he saw someone normal. “Who’re you?” The boy was pretty, in the same sense Padme was, to Crocodile. The green man-child would look at the aviari perched in the tree, waving his paw as if dismissing her. Like everyone else, she would know who he was, and hopefully wouldn’t fight him on this. Crocodile could handle this pretty boy. As soon as the aviari would get some distance, the boy would smile. “You’ve come ta the borders of El Dorado. Are ya here ta join us, or nah?” Crocodile had taken mental note at the lack of others, meaning this boy wanted to join their ranks, most likely. The Lark was in a good mood, ready to see what this stranger had to say. RE: just breathe [acceptance] - Illidan - January 01, 2019 A more gruff voice pulled on the boy's attention, his head turning to notice a rather odd sight. Lizards crawled within the fur of this stranger, his green fur almost resembling moss. Blue eyes widened in captivated wonder, wondering the purpose of those creatures that rippled beneath his fur. The stranger pondered a good question, one Illidan shifted to immediately, his mind clouding over the unfamiliar feathered girl in the trees. "I'm Illidan. I've gotten lost and I am here in this strange, wonderful place." he said, voice as smooth as silk, warm as the summer and cool like the rain.
Finally, an answer to his question. El Dorado was the name of this place, a temperate humidity surrounding the jungle that soon morphed into forest just beyond where he came from. Illidan had stumbled upon a civilization, something he yearned for in his heart yet never experienced it much beyond family. "Well... I don't know. Yes? I've never joined uhm... a group." The thought was both thrilling and terrifying. Would they accept him? Oh the adventures of it all though! The more the boy thought about it, the more he wanted it. Illidan smiled and strode a few steps toward Crocodile. "Yes. Yes, I'd like to join you, if I may?" New beginnings awaited him. ✦ ✦ Speech Text ✦ ✦
RE: just breathe [acceptance] - Crocodile - January 05, 2019 "I'm Illidan. I've gotten lost and I am here in this strange, wonderful place." Crocodile hadn’t looked at El Dorado in such a way, and his eyes looked about him. He had to admit, it was a good place, he just hadn’t thought that far into it. His main focus was always the lizards and his brother. Why would he care what the land was like? The long haired man had a point, but he did nothing to acknowledge it. "Well... I don't know. Yes? I've never joined uhm... a group." For some reason Crocodile felt like this guy had some family, somewhere. Maybe they hadn’t been in a pack, he didn’t know anything. But this Illidan was pretty, held some kind of lineage. Did it affect anything? No, of course not. The man came closer, and Crocodile had a very toothy, very crocodile smile about him. "Yes. Yes, I'd like to join you, if I may?" They needed more blood than the aviaris, he assumed. Eventually they would all be fucking family and he wasn’t going to let that happen. The man would be a pretty addition to the breeding population (stop thinking with your dick, Crocodile). Either way, he smiled. “Ay, ya wanna join, Illidan? What can ya do?” In all honesty, even if Illidan didn’t have much of an answer, he would probably still let him in. So far he only knew of his brother and some long eared hellion as the only not-avari, and he was growing too use to feathers. RE: just breathe [acceptance] - Illidan - January 06, 2019 The boy was oblivious to the slight mesmerized Crocodile before him, but his pale blue eyes stared at golden ringed with red as the other approached closer. A smile grew, teeth jagged from lips and the boy tilted his head. It almost reminded him of his father, only Zasha was more soft while this stranger was more forward. He proposed a question, one Illidan wasn't sure how to answer. He was young and the fae had sprouted in different directions.
"I.. know some basics of herbalism. But I can learn fast, I'd like to. And.. if there's anything you need, I'm willing to strive for that. Whatever you need." he chirped happily, a smile of his own growing. It was just as soft as his voice. He hadn't learned much in his youth, there were no teachers like there were in his mother's homeland. If they had been born in Saboro, opportunities would be laid before them. Here, in El Dorado, a distant land filled with fairy tales, the boy was on his own. Brow lifted in hope. ✦ ✦ Speech Text ✦ ✦
RE: just breathe [acceptance] - Crocodile - January 08, 2019 Apparently the pack’s borders had been closed a long time. The blood lines were running thin and they needed new blood. Plus, there were only so many aviaris left. He wasn’t sure where Itai came from, but no matter. More people had come to the border, but everyone was so into fighting, using their brawn. Not that Crocodile could say any better for himself, but it was almost getting old. Granted, they could use any pair of teeth they came across, but it was nice to mix it up every once in a while. "I.. know some basics of herbalism. But I can learn fast, I'd like to. And.. if there's anything you need, I'm willing to strive for that. Whatever you need." He had hoped for a more concrete answer, but it was good enough in his opinion. The lizards on his back were getting impatient, some running across his face to say they were tired of holding the eggs. If it weren’t for them, he would probably stand here longer just to keep Illidan here so Croc could watch him (he didn’t have that power with Padme). But alas, they at one point went between his teeth, which was a clear sign of their annoyance. “Aye, we could use some healers.” His pirate accent was thick. “So far we only got two, that ah’m aware of.” He’d turn away from Illidan, motioning him to follow with his tail. Together in silence they would be able to walk into the tunnel system, walk through the dark and then emerge into the colorful El Dorado. “If ya ask someone fur tha Roc of Talons, they can point ya in the right direction. Healers are Cardinals.” He’d give a good luck smile, before motioning with his paw that Illidan could go explore El Dorado. welcome to el dorado. you don't need to post again thumbs up
