The World Ahead - Alura - September 09, 2018 Alura was on the move again. The tan and gray bobcat knew no rest, but in truth it never bothered her, as most of her budding adult life had been saturated by wanderlust. It was something her mother had instilled in her, she guessed, with all the moving around she had done during her kittenhood. The land she found herself in was unfamiliar now, far outside her usual stomping grounds it seemed. The little bobcat wasn't quite sure how she had ended up here in the first place (she recalled chasing a lizard for a while), but she wasn't about to complain. New places were always interesting, and offered up many new opportunities. The sun was beginning to dip below the horizon, and it was growing dark, but her keen golden eyes were still able to see quite clearly. She found herself on something that looked like a scrubby plain, with tall grass and a few shrubs, rocks and trees dotting the landscape. In the distance she could see evidence of hills. Alura sniffed at the air and twitched her ears to listen, trying to determine if there were any other creatures around. RE: The World Ahead - Sumitra - September 09, 2018 Trying to keep her restless paws at bay was a failure. Sumitra had left her humble abode today without a word, without her morning tea even. Unbelievable! But it was true. She wanted to stretch her legs and loosen up. A walk was suitable enough. Aimless travel had brought her to an open clearing with pools of sun bathing a small circle of lupines in soft light, the long budding flowers waving gently in a short gust of wind. It was getting cold now. Soon, in a few months time, she wouldn't see these dear flowers again. Not for awhile. It gave her anxiety just thinking about it. Even the days grew shorter now. Perhaps it was time to find another desert... She continued to ponder the idea as she exited the flower bed and emerged from the trees, coming upon a hill. The saber's eyes glinted in curiosity. Perhaps if she could get a better view point, she could see where she was and find something interesting. She wasn't far from home, after all. What could it hurt? Sumitra hobbled to the top, her large feline paws scraping at the grass as she climbed. It was a steep one, and something was beginning to make her heart race. A nice view is something she absolutely lived for. Even if she had found nothing worth her time, to sit at the peak and gaze upon her semi-new home was good enough for her. But as she reached the highest she could go, she saw something she had never seen before. Down the hill, a little ways away, was a tiny little... baby! The large she-cat gasped excitedly, her stubby tail, or rather her entire behind, wagging furiously. What was a little sister doing all the way out here? Immediately, she bounded forward towards the small creature, hoping to find out where she had come from and why her parents weren't watching over her. ooc; hope you don't mind my giant saber mistaking your bobcat for a baby saber lol RE: The World Ahead - Alura - September 10, 2018 For a moment it seemed that she alone was in this land, as she could not see or hear anything from where she stood. The light breeze brought only the smell of grass and trees. The small bobcat hopped onto a still sun-warmed rock, and surveyed her surroundings once more, hoping this wasn't as lonely a plain as it appeared to be. It would have been nice to see a friendly face. She was about to conclude that she was indeed the only one there, but then movement seen only in the corner of her eye caught her attention. She perked her tufted ears up and stood as tall as she could on the rock, gazing at the hills before her. Squinting her golden eyes, she could see something rushing towards her position. It didn't take her long to realize it was a feline, large... That was enough for her. She leapt off of the rock, and hit the ground running. It was a saber! It wasa one of the fearsome predators her mother had spent her entire life protecting her from. She had been lucky enough to avoid them all of her young life, but now she was going to become prey, she was sure of it. She darted through the grass as quickly as her little legs would take her, but she feared it would not be enough. She frantically searched for some way out. The land was scarce of hiding spots, but then an opportunity presented itself-- a tree! In one last mad dash, Alura threw herself at the trunk and shimmied up speedily, clutching onto one of the highest branches, praying it would be enough to escape the saber. ooc: I don't mind at all hehe. Sorry my reply is a bit short, I'm a little rusty |
