Whispering grass and singing winds - Taya - June 14, 2018
The wind blew across the tall grass as Taya walked, rustling around her with a soft hissing reminiscent of whispering voices. After walking for so long amongst it the sound became grating, wearing on the ears like teeth screeching across a slippery bone. Still, if she wanted to get out of the wind and grass all she had to do was make it to the forest on the horizon. They seemed to only be a quarter of a day's walk away (from what she remembered anyways) and beneath them, there would be soft footing and prey that you didn't make you run through seemingly endless tall grass and hard dirt to catch it. Maybe she could even find a place to settle, somewhere to stop and call home along the way. That was a thought for tomorrow though when she could awake under the shade of trees instead of between constantly whispering grasses.
'If only there were a way to fly me across the land instead of having to walk the whole way over it!'
