this wasn't what i expected [prp] - Sheikra - January 27, 2018

Dogmeat was gone. It had been her fault.
Mother was gone. She couldn't even explain why...
Father was also gone - she'd made sure of that - and that seemed the be the only good thing.

She'd made the move easy enough - she wasn't one to turn down the opportunity for adventure or travel. In fact she'd be lying if she said her eyes hadn't lustfully wandered during the exodus. The new lands were satisfying enough, for the eager and ravenous soul, but time would tell if it would be enough to satiate the girl. After all, she was never one who could simply stay still. Wait patiently. No. Sheikra needed to be on the move, at all times and in any circumstances. The past couple years in the shadows of others had only intensified this need.

Grumbling beneath her breath, her well-built figure strode out in the open grasses in the western parts of the second ring. With her nerves on edge, she felt the need to move, the need to do things, and she followed where her legs led her. Weaving up and down rocky ledges, around trees and shrubs, and across shallow streams, the Slab soon broke into a light pant as she came across a patch of thick herbs. Their scents were thick and pungent, and so she slowed and idled up to them. Flicking up her tail, her ears perked in curiosity, she accidentally dipped her head too quickly and found her face buried in the sweet leaves of mint.

The sudden onslaught of their slick scent forced a rather tasteless sneeze, causing her to stumbled back a step or two and fall onto her rump. Another series of disgusting sneezes followed until she was able to rub her wrist against her nose. Watery eyes squinted in agitation and embarrassment - equal parts of both - as she scowled at the stupid herbs. A low growl and muttered curse words let them know just how much she fucking hated them right now.

This land had it out for her...

Speech Text

Gray stood like a phoenix in the ashes of the forest’s aftermath; big and bright and burning. There was a twinkle in his eye and surety in his step, and with each passing day he was convinced that this is what Saboro had needed. There was no longer any uncertainty as he watched and felt, even inside of himself, his strength and conviction to carry on returning, as it always did.

The occurrence was unfortunate. There were regrets, there were “what if’s” and “but’s” and none of them would do him any good now. Still, he worried about Dirge. What had become of the his devil-tailed troublemaker? Gray wished only for his safety, frequently dissuading himself from thoughts that suggested he was anything but okay.

He was alive, he told himself. And he would return.

It was by chance that Gray happened upon Sheikra, and so also by chance that he witnessed her embarrassing little display. The scene managed a smile upon the King’s face as he loomed closer. “You know,” he began. “I’m no herb expert, but I don’t think that’s how that’s supposed to be used.” There was a lilt to his voice suggesting playfulness, and if she got angry or indignant, that smile would only widen.

Entertain me, mint chip.
