walk without the stars - Alue - October 07, 2017

Depression had been taking a strong hold of the wolfdog, and it had caused countless sleepless nights, caused many break downs to where he ran away from interaction as to not be caught crying. But Alue had found something, a small distraction. He didn’t know too much about crafting, not having much interest at the moment - he didn’t think of himself as creative - but he found that he enjoyed collecting small items and organizing them. After Kestrel had given the halos crystals that were carved out to hold herbs, it gave him an idea to try and carve out little bowls to hold items he found. They were progressively getting better, even if he held the first, shitty, one as his favorite.

It was closer to night as he left his den. He had finished separating the stones he had found by color, and whatever scraps he had found that he thought might be useful. Now he was out, on the search for anything that might entertain him. Alue was wearing the crystal that Kestrel had given him, to collect herbs, and kept it empty so that he could grab anything he passed by. In the mountains that surrounded Nardir, he had found a small gave with small, colorful crystals that he could break off. He tried not to take too much, as he didn’t want to ruin the cave. But he’d gather some in the leather pouch he had found, and tried not to hurt his teeth.

The boy slipped into the darkness of the cave, knowing that he would have to push through the immediate fear of the darkness and closeness of the walls. If the crystals were already sprouting around him, he wasn’t aware. The further into the cave, the lighter it became, until he was in a small room of sorts that had crystals shining all about him. Somewhere there was an opening, he knew, but he hadn’t searched it out. What mattered is that there was enough light for him to tell what color he was looking at, and was able to find small pieces to break off. He went up to the opaque blue crystals, firmly biting down and testing if he could pull it down. He went on doing this for a minute or so, until he felt one give way easily. Dropping it into the pouch, he went onto biting and testing more crystals, slowly trying to fill his little pouch with a rainbow of crystals.

She stayed in the shadows, her eyes fixed on the wolf dog. Although she couldn't be seen, her eyes could. Wishing wind said, still hidden "what's a dog like you doing in the Crystal Caves? Shouldn't you be getting your belly scratched or something", she sniffed the air "What is that? Strawberry dog shampoo?" She laughed a little and neatly tucked her tail over her paws. She closed her eyes and had a small flash back, her fur was still dented where her collar once was. She opened her eyes once more and waited for an answer.

Hey WishingWind! This thread isn't open anymore; all the threads on this board are closed, because they're part of Nardir's archive. I'll shoot you a PM about posting customs.
